What will the SportsHub talk about for the next 4 months?

Now that the Bruins have choked their way out of the playoffs, the guys at the Sportshub will have a few days of post-mortem, plus the NFL draft fallout.

The ratings from now til August should be interesting.....

They can bitch about the Sox all summer long and crucify Bobby Valentine...

As a native of NJ and life long Yankees fan, I couldn't be happier hearing their misery!

i wouldn't call it choking!! and they also got the wes welker will he or won't he sign talk and the celtics as well!!

I guess it wasn't a total choke, but I thought the Bruins puck control was pathetic in the playoffs, and directly led to both goals last night.
As much as folks might want to blame this on Thomas and call it Karma for not going to see the POTUS, I think Thomas is pretty blame-free in this series.

What I meant to say originally was that they had exclusive access to several Bruins guys that would call in during the week to build interest. I don't recall them having access to any Red Sox or Celtics personnel.

Unless they can get Welker to call in, or some other major Patriot names, I don't know if that will help their ratings.

Complaining about the Red Sox is a game we all can play! It is like our own cottage industry. Bobby V makes it all the more fun.

This is Boston Home for The Red Sox --------- Sports Talk. 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Or they can do what the big sports station in San Antonio does: "We're the home of the Cowboys fan" (their sister station WOAI carries Cowboys games).

well i think your right, i myself think last year was kinda a fluke and had a bit of luck which ran out this time around, t&r does have Greg stem as call in on Wednesdays, as for Wes they can get info since they are the flagship station so i'm sure they can still talk alot about it while the Redsox spend the season in last place!!

by now many of you have seen ESPN is landing on WRKS 98.7 in NYC on Monday (simulcast with 1050 till Sept, then 1050 goes ESPN Deportes) and speculation is part of the reason for this is so they can be in a better position to go after Yankees or Mets games. One could have imagined the
following scenario in Boston a few years back, had the Red Sox deal (expired in 06 I think)
been set to expire a few years later: "(imagine) CBS has announced they will flip 98.5 to
all sports, partly in an attempt to get Red Sox rights. The idea of a powerful FM station can
prove to be an advantage in this attempt.."

No static no static at all, ESPN..FM, in NYC.

@Raccoonradio, the best stations, if that were to happen here would be 96.9, if they wanted to blow up a format like they did in NYC with 98.7, here would be?, maybe one of also 105.7. I'd say those three signals were best here.
If CBS Radio wanted to do that, I'd say 104.1, or 100.7 will be the best for them

ZLX does well, I don't think they'd blow them up.
96.9 has people like Graham and Eagan & Braude under contract till next year I think. We'll have to see if they get Howie this fall. Picture CC doing a deal with WTKK to carry some of their shows and they'd switch 1200 to something else.
(E&B, Beck or Graham, Rush, Howie, Katz, Hannity, etc.)

Anybody's guess. Or as you say would 96.9 go to a music format?
Some are saying AM talk listeners are fleeing to FM, and FM music listeners flee to Ipods...
