what works in radio..........

Again, just my opinion. Vegas has a real problem.....most of it's radio selections SUCK big time. I'm originally from SF Bay Area, so while I can't really compare the two vastly different markets, I will try to see past the glittering lights and NEON.

In a town (VEGAS), where everything is livin large, FM radio sucks balls. Their are only a handful of stations I feel really get VEGAS.

923 KOMP-FM
955 KWNR-FM
KVEG-FM Hot 975
JACK FM (no deejays, great idea)
971 The Point

the rest are amateurs.....

hell, the new fresh 1027 sounds like KOIT FM (SF) locked in a closet.

1043 Coyote Country started out good, hired some OK jocks, but did not try hard enough to fight off KWNR, you've got to want it to win.

They should rename Beasley Broadcasting, to Measley Broadcasting.LOL!!!!!

I've got 1 word for VEGAS radio.... relate......you've got to relate to your listeners, your audience.

hire actual talent, do promotions, hit the streets, VEGAS is the perfect medium for this, people love it when stations give away FREE gas, money and other stuff. they will remember "blank station" gave me FREE gas when I needed it.

I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and had a chance to sample some FM stations. I thought the imaging at KOMP was head and shoulders above what I heard on any other stations I listened to while I was there.

again...do you read what you write??

JACK FM is ideal for not having any jocks on-air IMHO....I wish some other vegas stations had no jocks at all... JACK was designed to be a jukebox kind of hits station.:)

JACK-FM is good radio - you don't have to listen to endless DJ promotions, or annoying DJ chatter! Bravo, JACK-FM!

Jack is like the Taco Bell of radio. It's consistently okay. "C" average all the way. It'll never be great. You don't have to listen to annoying DJ promotions, but you'll also never hear any really good DJs. And you'll never hear anything remotely different or risk taking.

I think it's sad when people are impressed with mediocrity.
