It has also been rumored that Cox maybe interested in selling their TV spectrum in the repack auction. Of the folks I have heard rumored to be interested in WBT and WLNK Cox and Raycom are not among them.

From what I understand, TV stations above RF30 may be required by the FCC to move to a lower channel frequency. Which means WSOC-TV Channel 9 may have to vacate RF34. Same for Cox flagship WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta, which currently transmits on RF39. Hopefully they will move to another channel that will preserve their current coverage area for over the air antenna viewers. And I really wish they would consider moving WSOC-TV to a taller tower near Dallas like WBTV and the other stations in Gaston County which have a wider coverage area. That is why WCNC moved Channel 36 out of Mecklenburg County to give them a stronger signal. And although WSOC has a strong signal in Charlotte and the eastern counties, it is weaker to the west compared to WBTV and WCNC. And WLOS from Asheville is also a bit weak on RF13, so ABC has weak reception between Spartanburg and Gastonia compared to 2 strong CBS signals, WBTV and WSPA. If WSOC could make their Crowder's Mtn. translator a full power signal, it would be excellent and perhaps they could keep it on the same RF30.
