What would you do?

If you had the opportunity to work part-time in a major market or work full time in a small market what would you do? The small market is a great place to work with great people and a large market mentality.

Thanks for your opinion.

I think you actually have already made up your mind. The small market fulltime with the large market mentality. Some small markets can be great places to live, raise a family and the people are wonderful, at least in Texas and California.

I know several people that had good positions and as secure as any can be today, but tired of the big city and moved to a small market and they have never regreted for one minute making the move. One I know has been offered several times to return to Houston and his answer is a firm no. His entire family is very happy where there are now. He would be wealthier financially if he moved back to Houston, but his family gets by nicely where they are and there is more to life than just a big paycheck. He and his family have a greater wealth than cash.

Do what makes you happiest.

At the end of the day, that's all that matters.<P ID="signature">______________

That and in small markets, you are less likely to get canned cause corporate wants a format change last week at your station...

I agree with most of the other posters here. Do what makes you happy first.....the money will follow. Plus, you don't mention how long you've been off the air. Going to a smaller market might be able to give you the opportunity to stretch your wings a little more and develop your personality better. However, don't go too too small, or you'll wind up buried there. That is unless you truly love it there, then go ahead and enjoy the heck out of being a big fish in a small pond. Best of luck in whatever you decide!
