What WYRK jock got canned on Good Friday

Ninth caller

Saw a lot of negative postings on Facebook with John LaMond in the lead role, but nobody says who got sent packing at TownSquare.

Is there a problem in the ratings or with revenue?

(Yes I'm almost asking this rhetorically...I'm not privy to such inside information but every 12+ I see for the market has 'YRK on top...)

It was Cumulus Buffalo that thinned the herd. Creative Services Director Jeff Gordon was given a one way ticket to the beach on Good Friday. Long considered one of the best production men in the market, he served 97 Rock and the Edge since early 90s.

:(

It's always the good and talented people who can't prove their worth through ratings that get the ax.

I'm sure that the fact that it was Good Friday was simply coincidental with the end of the quarter, and the pay period. You'd think that whoever pulled that trigger might have looked at a calendar, and given a 20-year employee an extra day's pay without making him show up to get fired on Good Friday.

Then again, maybe there was a lot of production stacked up...

Gordy Dysinger is one of the best in the biz. If so, they parted with a legend. That is extremely disturbing!!

It must have been a rough first quarter for the Buffalo cluster, if not the entire company. Cumulus synergies strike again. Who remains to do production?

Going back to the top of the thread, John LaMond was cut by WYRK at Christmastime despite having the highest ratings in town.
