Whatever happened to Jefferson Ward

I have fond memories of listening to Jefferson Ward in the early 80's. Sitting with friends out in the back yard drinking Beer while Marty Balin Hearts was blaring from our little transistor radio. And, then Jefferson Ward would come on the air. I miss those days. Whatever happened to Jefferson Ward?

he was a great jock indeed. if i am not mistaken...he is the general sales manager for an fm in philadelphia. i guess he figured the jack was not in jocking...it's in sales.

the early 80s were the glory days of lehigh valley radio. i remember listening to Key Largo by Bertie Higgins on WAEB-AM around 1980 while driving down McArthur Blvd with my Papa past the George Washington motel. Ahh, the old days.

I used to swim illegally at the GW. Usually the pool would have on WAEB or maybe Q-100. This was later in the 80's. We'd get some guy to buy us booze and go in there and drink in the bathroom before going for a swim. Those were the days.

Getting back to Jefferson Ward, I believe I heard him in the early 80's. I think he did a top 9 at 9 show on WAEB 790. I remember Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes, The Voice by the Moody Blues, and that absurd Stars On 45. I liked the song/medley at the time but years later I realized what a piece of garbage the song was.

He also spend time as PD of WKSS/Hartford in the early 90's, took the station very rhythmic CHR and became a ratings threat to then leader WTIC-FM.
