Yes, I got canned at K-News, by a guy who went on to get fired for incompetence 2 years later after embedding the station firmly in the sewer. He's no longer in radio management. I am.
KDWN was being run by an addled old woman everyone but me was afraid of. She made professional promises she didn't keep, and so I moved on. She's no longer in radio. I am.
I walked out of KXNT because I had no future there, and have major problems with the way they treat people. I know they're doing very well now, and I congratulate them for their success. But, their competition nightmare has just begun....2 months ago, in fact.
That's when FOXNews1280-KDOX first hit the air.
Winning starts in the front office. We have the best Owner/CEO in Las Vegas Radio. Period. Yes, I do Morning Drive News and Traffic, and Voice the station. I'm also the Operations Manager, and Program Director. I supervise 2 employees, one of which is the best Imaging Director in this town. And it's the best job any of us has had in Las Vegas radio for 10 years.
True. We don't have any ratings to show for our 2 months work in Radio's toughest format.
Here's the Truth....Our line-up is Talk Radio's future. KXNT's line-up is Talk Radio's past. KXNT is riding a helpless drug-addict, a pushy broad from Southern California telling people how to live, and a guy defying gravity as a mindless shill for the Republican Party. One way or another, these people are finishing up their (yes, stellar) careers.
Want some more Truth? All you have to do to predict KXNT's future in Las Vegas is look at what CBS Radio did when Howard left. Who's next on the air for 840? David Lee Roth?
Honestly? All we have to do is wait. And until then, Las Vegas has what it has never had before....2 competent Talk Stations serving our neighbors at the same time in the Post 9-Eleven Era.
All of us in Las Vegas have already won.
As for me praising myself using another screen name....Why on Earth would I do that? Unlike you, I'm not afraid of who I am. And besides...
