WHATEVER HAPPENED TO LUKEN'S PLANS TO START RTV2 & PBJ SUB CHANNELS

I see posts, promises, and quotes all over the web from 2009 and 2010 from Luken
Communications (RTV, TUFF-TV) on plans to start an RTV2 and PBJ kids channel.
What happened? Did those plans go up in smoke?

I think if you watch RTV the answer is pretty clear. They can't get their act together running what they have and you expect them to start doing more? I hear excessively loud and over-modulated audio quite often on RTV and it makes me question the quality control of their feeds. Can you imagine more channels like that?

I never hear that on my RTV station. They seemed to have cleared up most of the tech issue, but
programming issues remain.

TUFF-TV has gone from 14 stations to about 40 over the last few months also.

Yep, they need to concentrate on making what they have better, rather than adding two more channels of crap. And, or Lord, what in the world would they program on RTV2? Are there worse programs available than what's on RTV1? (Shudder).

Over 40? I count 20 or so.

They didn't, to my knowledge. I think Luken is handling affiliation agreements and distribution, possibly.

A press release about Luken now owning part of My Family TV says in the "About Luken Communications" section "PBJ Television and My Car TV are new networks that will be available sometime in 2011. RTV II is a network that will be available in July 2011." So RTV2 will launch in July, PBJ and another network called My Car TV will launch sometime this year. Here's the link for that press release: http://www.marketwire.com/press-rel...Venture-With-Luken-Communications-1415354.htm

As of right now these are just promises, but I keep telling folks on here commenting about the
impending doom of RTV, that Luken is very viable.....and ain't going away. They are one of if
not the most successful sub channel broadcasters out there.

Now, Car TV, that sounds like some sort of car network, if they can pull that off they must be
really close to heaven. It sounds like a very specific audience..........something like The Girl
Scout Channel or The Hairdresser Channel.

Do you think they may have plans to turn My Family TV into RTV2 in July? I can't see them starting up two brand new channels in these economic times (RTV2 & Car Network) plus running My Family TV, RTV and Tuff TV. There is a coming soon PB&J logo on their website but there is no coming soon or logo for RTV2 or Car network. So far all their talk just seems to be a "hopeful" PR campaign.

They must be reeling after Me-TV captured some of their RTV stations and searching for replacements. PB&J looks to be mostly retro cartoons (target age 10+ to adults) from what I've seen on the web. I was thinking it would be more for younger kids, which the name implies........maybe SMORES would be a better title.

Other than stations, PB&J looks like it will be a pretty easy start up......just buy the rights and get
some advertising. Although cartoons are a pretty competitive field, I think there is room for PB&J and more retro cartoons. A lot of independent type stations that once had afternoon kids cartoons are now doing something else. Finding stations willing to devote a sub to cartoons could be the hold up......but that would sure beat weather radar and some of the other stuff out there.

SMORES is bound to be copyrighted.
Other than that, kudos for the amount of thought you have given to this subject.
You are a leader in your field. :)

Really, I think their programming is just fine they have the universal library which is widely considered one of the best if not the best.

Now they don't have that!
