Whatever happened to that Tony Bruno guy?

Oh that's right he is living in an apartment in Philly hosting two local hours of radio.

But remember people on this board said FOX Sports Radio would fold when he left the first time? They folded so much he ended up going back to host the night show with a miserably bad co host and team. Or when he left Sporting News Radio? All of you said they were done. Now they are Yahoo Sports Radio and still on the air.

Hmmmm I wonder if Mike Golic is sad that Bruno ever left ESPN Radio?

You can't call a Major League Baseball player an illegal alien and expect to keep your job. Fox Sports Radio did the right thing.

Bruno's "Into The Night" contract was with Direct TV sports, not Fox Sports Radio. Dan Patrick's show is produced the same way. Many Fox Sports Radio affiliates aired Bruno's show, but it was not exclusive to FSR.

Obviously a lot of failed radio hacks with zero info come in here to spew lies.
Since I live in Philly, I would say Bruno is doing okay. He is beating WIP in his time slot (a station he helped make a monster), he lives in the most prestigious waterfront condo building in Center City, and I'm sure he's not devastated to be off the dead-end night shift. Directv hired drug fiend Artie Lange as a replacement and can't get that show cleared anywhere, including the 250+ Fox affiliates which air lame substitutes instead. As for the "he was fired for an illegal alien tweet" crowd, why was he back on the air for 2 months after that happened? There isn't a sports radio host who has accomplished anything close to what Bruno has done in his career. JT the Brick is wallowing overnights and has NEVER had any significant time slot in any major market. Most network shows are just filler programming with low-paid blowhards who think it's a big deal to be on the radio when no one is listening or even knows you exist. Even Jason Smith bailed from ESPN overnights because it's a glass ceiling job. Bruno has been a star where-ever he has worked and is back to being a dominant figure in local radio - in the best sports town in America - and close to his family. Unlike the coaches, athletes and other phonies who use the "close to the family" card, it sounds like Tony is happy and glad to be back with his family and friends. Isn't that what a great career should be about? I guess most of you wouldn't know what it's like to be successful, that's why you are in here judging people who more than likely don't even know. Merrry Christmas to all!

Direct TV already had plans to bring in Artie Lange and Nick Dipaulo a few weeks before Bruno's Twitter incident took place. The morning after Artie and Nick subbed for Bruno's "Into the Night," Dan Patrick had Lange on as a guest. This was corporate pump priming at its worst.

Radiogodzilla must be the bartender that served Tony his last drink while he was on the air and pushed send for his "tweet" that ended his career. Yes, losing his syndication and KNBR gig and now only co-hosting two hours on Philly radio is rock bottom.

Lifeguard of radio? Your knowledge wouldn't work at a kiddie pool. Rock Bottom? Making more money than any national host other than Rome or Patrick to host a local ratings winner, perks beyond belief, partying at night and still working for Comcast in Philly and gets flown in to do Raiders post-game in San Francisco by Comcast Bay area. Doesn't sound like rock bottom to me. Must not be much talent on the west coast if Comcast still flies a guy 3-thousand miles to work in SF. You trolls need to read up on radio success and then make comments. Directv isn't stupid enough to not re-sign a guy like Bruno over a stupid tweet and then pay a drug addict like Artie Lange and 2-bit comic Nick DiPaulo 3-million hoping Lange doesn't kill himself or cost the company tons in fines and embarassment. Wow, no wonder no one of substance reads this stuff. Why do I even bother looking at this nonsense?

Tony is not paid in the top 150 sports talk hosts in America. It is sad and you are clearly a fan of his and are trying to lift his spirits. If you had only an idea of what the top syndicated and local hosts made you would give Tony a loan to help him bridge the gap until next months pay check. Seriously?

I'm sure you know what the top 150 guys make. Who do you work for the IRS? I don't know salaries, I just hear a guy sounding great and obviously happy and still wanted in this industry. Have known tons of talented people who have gotten out of this business because no one wants to pay talent anymore. Perhaps you should put your hate aside and listen to his show on-line and hear how he is still an elite performer at the top of his game. Your idea of a great job is overnights on a network making 100-k with no listeners? I would bet my paycheck against yours that Bruno is banking a lot more than you think he is. I would also bet he has more listeners doing a local mid-day show in Philly than national guys talking to themselves in meaningless time slots.

War Tony Bruno.... A Great Radio Personality..... Lives a great life.... Makes love to beautiful Women.... Jealous Much JT.....?

yep, Lifeguard sounds like either a JT crony or someone who knows nothing about radio. Robert Wuhl just got dumped after 1 year of his national show. Why? Because no one carried him, he was boring and couldn't generate sales to pay his salary. People like JT and other insignificant radio hosts with zero impact working overnights should be happy to have a job in this era of cheap companies. Reading some of the posts you'd think some of these guys were major players when they are probably taking pay cuts every time their contracts run out just to stay on the air. Didn't I read JT moved from LA to a foreclosed home in Vegas? I guess that is a "step up" to some on this board?
