Whatever happened to: WOIO Kids Club Hostess?

Whatever happened to the woman that hosted WOIO 19's "Fox Kids Club" segments in the late 1980's? I can't remember her name but she would do the wrap arounds for Duck Tales and Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, and then she disappeared when WOIO flipped to CBS and dropped the FOX cartoons.

You sure you're not thinking about Liz, who was on channel 43 doing the "Kidsland" Club?

Liz came to WUAB in 1989, right when Superhost and Barnaby were retiring. I guess she was Cannell Communication's attempt to "freshen up" and add "youth and energy" to the children's programming.

She was at 43 until 1995 (when WUAB pretty much phased out the daily kids shows) and then she became a feature reporter on TV 5 for a couple of years, and then I believe she left the business.

If someone knows better than I where/what Liz is doing these days, by all means let me know.

But as best as I can remember, that's what happened to her.

I remember Liz. I thought she was cool when she appeared in between the kid shows on 43. I think before her, they had actual kids do the wrap arounds.

With 19, I don't remember the hostess, but I remember Rocky Rox, the fox character that appeared in the promos and segments in the early 90's before the switch to CBS.

I also remember Patti on 55 during the late 90's, and Ali after in the early to mid-2000's. What happened to those two?

Both of them actually had/have office jobs at WBNX, and the Kids Club thing was a side gig.

When the CW did away with their daily cartoon block, the Kids Club quietly fizzled out as well.

They also have been spotted singing as part of the Grace Cathedral choir on the "90 & 9 Club", so that could also indicate that they do work for the ministry as well.

Off topic a little, but...

To this day, the neon "Michigan J. Frog" still sits on the side of the WBNX building on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls.

That little fella (and Fox Kids) helped 55 become looked at more as a legit TV station, rather than just Ernest Angley's side project, so it's like a (not so) little momento.

Oh, definitely. I even talked to a source within 55 who told me that...it's almost a neon good luck charm for them, and aside from the fact that it would take some money to dismantle...why dismantle it? They like it. :D
