...the new AM station that was supposed to have offices and/or transmitter on Salem Mountain in Archbald? Some concern from New York was it? Or Jersey? It was in the newspaper I don't know, five years back? Maybe more? Anybody have any idea what the heck I'm talking about?

As someone who knows a few Archbaldians and who is up
in that neck of the woods a great deal, this is the
first I'm hearing about it. To quote Dan Rather's
assailant, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"

To quote Dan Rather's > assailant, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" > yonkstur> This was last year during an open AM filing period; now before I get quoted I made some real brain farts here the past few days so take this for what it is worth;.....I believe that 1320 was applied for by The Scranton Times......I thought the city was Dickson City but no matter; I mentioned this in a post this week because I felt that WNEP could do a good job providing a news format..in response to a post about news programming......in the not to recent past there was a proposal to take WEJL to a two tower DA (why???...it is a killer signal at lightbulb wattage!) and I thought they wanted to do sports on 1320. As far as I know the app is still open ......unless someone heard something else recently...kevin Fitz could clue us in here.<P ID="signature">______________

I think 1320 is a dead issue.

The station I seem to recall reading about was a new station? It was in the paper unless I was in the alternate universe. Got an e-mail in to Rich Mates...he's thinking Fennessey or Cordaro were involved, but I don't think that's the case. I think it was somebody from, I wanna say, the Binghamton area? Maybe Jersey though? Sorry my details are so sketchy...helps to pay more attention to these things as they're happening, plus let's not forget the years of substance abuse involved here...
