Whatever happened to...........................

Wendy at Y-95 ???

Please put who you would like to find out about what happened to them............

Wendy was on in the late 80's when Y-95 was a pop station, for those who weren't here during that time period. She was extremely pleasing on the eyes, as well.

Last I remember hearing, she took a job in California. This was around the early 1990's.

Spelled "Wendi," far as I recall, but no idea on her last name. She went on to become an MTV veejay, and appeared in some Miller Genuine Draft posters and billboards. That was INDEED a hottie.

He will be making an announcement at the end of this month forming a "Presidential Exploration Committee"with a formal announcement for Candidacy in May.

Dan Potter . . .

Thanks for asking! I've teamed-up with David Yates to help develop a couple of weekend shows. The first one takes air in DFW and Houston (and hopefully several other markets) April 7th. www.teetimeradio.com (We just got the website up a couple of days ago..strictly a demo right now).

Can't talk about the second show yet but people who know me won't be surprised to find out what its about. (And no. It's not that). We hope to have the second show airborne in June.

Dan

Hey, Dan! Thanks for the response! We've never met, but I'm a long time WBAP listener. Amy's doing a great job, but you're sorely missed on the morning show!

As a retired band director, I can only hope that your new weekend show has something to do with music education.

Best wishes!

Gotta go to the internet for that kind of niche coverage ;) I continue to do audio and video magazines for DCI's and BOA's websites.

No, the second syndicated show David and I are working on will have a subject matter that's of a lot more general interest. More soon.

DAN THE MAN! Say, been in this market for years as a home base, and I must say, miss your tones and wit on the news. Look forward to seeing more of you and hearing more of your work.

Peace.

I took a look at your Tee Time web site and thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to listening to the program next month.

Perhaps it will be some type of cooking show that you are working on for this summer?

MikeShannon,

Are you sure you might have confused Wendi with Nina Blackwood from MTV ??? I never knew about Wendi being on any MTV channels, at all..........

Nina Blackwood was hot in the day. Chunked up quite a bit since then, but haven't we all. :)

You know what, I even remember MTV AND VH1 when they actually played videos............instead of all that CRAP programming that they have on now.

YES!!! MTV ruled in the 80's. I used to stay up late at night back then to watch it. Some nights the folks would have to tell me to go to bed. ;) Think we also had MTV book covers in the day, as well.

Money for nothing....!

I had to dig around to find where I originally got the info, but here it is:

From poster to cable girl (credit: Dallas News, 12/04/1993)

It's been more than four years since Dallas motorists stared at the long legs of disc jockey Wendi Westbrook on Miller Beer billboards. But those who tune in for Monday night's Silk Stockings on USA Cable may see more than her legs.

"My clothes do come off at one point," Wendi says from her West Coast home.

How did this Dallas girl end up in the buff on the small screen? In 1990, Wendi dropped her gigs as a platter plugger at Dallas' now-defunct Y-95 radio and as Miller poster girl. She headed for Hollywood, where she found a last name (in Dallas, she was just Wendi) and a brief stint as an MTV video jock.

These days, Wendi spins stacks of wax (CDs actually) at Los Angeles' KIIS-FM (102.7). Between acting gigs like the Silk Stockings scene, that is. "Of course, they had to tone it down for TV," she says. "But the director's cut was pretty steamy."

Remember that silly contest (the title of it, at least) on KEGL/The Eagle around summer, 1985...called "Money for Nothing and your CHECKS for Free." I don't remember if that was also the Coca-Cola Cash summer, or when they gave away several of those God-awful looking Subaru XT's.

What... no photo  ??? :'(

Somewhere in my photo collection, I have a picture of her that I took from the Y-95 air studio. That was indeed one cool studio! I'll have to dig it out and scan it sometime and put it on the web. Mike, do you want to add it to your DFW Radio Tribute site?

Absolutely! Thanks!

Well Wendi was a hottie, no doubt.

Speaking of Nina Blackwood, she too was in a really bad movie called Vice Squad. She played a prostitute, imagine that !! :) Her pimp was the actor who formerly played Gregg Foster way way way back when on The Young and The Restless when David Hasselhof was Snapper Foster. I think Y&R was a 30 minute soap opera at the time.
