Whatever is happening with Audacy shouldn’t affect L.A., right?

Allegedly KROQ’s site in Pasadena is being placed in ownership of Audacy Atlas LLC, so it will either be sold and then leased back to Audacy or KROQ is moved elsewhere.
Other than that, I can’t see much happening in LA. It will be spared, such as the other larger markets, while the blood letting happens in the medium/small markets.

One thing that I noticed from these articles is how Audacy is going to be dumping a lot of their music oriented formats on HD-2 and HD-3 sub channels to save money. That would definitely effect some stations in LA and San Diego.
I imagine the Channel Q network will be shuttered, since it lost all of its airstaff around the turn of the new year, and appears to be losing its "flagship" in Palm Springs.

Yes, KPSQ will be LMA'ed on Monday by it's new owner, with two days of simulcasting KGAY before a new format is launched on 103.1. So is Audacy going to keep KDES as a standalone? KDES-HD-2 has Standards Mod FM feeding a translator. Mod is very popular and is making money for Audacy, so this may be an HD-2 they plan on keeping.
KQPS was a single, stand-alone station in a very consolidated market. It's said that CBS bought it so that their executives would have a business reason to go the market and play on one of our 118 golf courses.
KDES is Alpha, not Audacy.

You don't know Palm Springs. Besides being a great escape from NYC winters, nearly every resort hotel has a golf course of its own as well as some having arrangements with other courses.
I went to Palm Springs a few times as a kid, when I grew up in Culver City. Great place! At least Audacy still has San Diego, where’s there some decent courses there. Just not as good as a set up as Palm Springs
Out of curiosity, which hotels are resorts in Palm Springs? We go a few times each summer but stay in the boutiques. We're not golfers so on a side note, I thought there was only one golf course out there.
I can confirm that KSON-HD2 San Diego is now dead air. Not sure about their HD3 as I didn't check on it this week.

There are several dozen golf resorts here, starting with ones like Hotel La Quinta, DoubleTree in Palm Springs, Indian Wells Resort, Westin Rancho Mirage, JW Marriott Desert Springs, Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, Marriott Desert Springs, Desert Oasis, Renaissance Esmeralda, Marriot Shadow Ridge, Westin Mission Hills and a number more.
Further, a number of hotels with no golf course have agreements with private golf courses to extend privileges to guests.

This is one of the reasons why so many seniors are retired here and, thus, why older leaning radio stations can do so well.
Thanks, I knew about the golf resorts in the other towns. Wasn't so sure about Palm Springs itself. As I said, we stay in the small boutique hotels (12 rooms or less surrounding a pool and on a single level [no upstairs]). I have to admit I get a kick out of listening to the radio stations in the Coachella Valley since they are aimed at the small town vibe (I live in the San Diego so it's a different radio market).
While that is possible, keep in mind that Channel Q actually originates
(originated? depends when this post gets read!) out of KNX-HD2-97.1 L.A. (as mentioned in another thread).
Audacy retains the intelluctual property of Channel Q.
