WHAT'S 105.7'S SIGNAL LIKE IN SAN DIEGO?

Don't know about the name, but think the format will work.

Just wondering if KRTH covers more of North County then The Walrus will?

The closer to the coast, the better 105.7 is. Null in Vista for the most part. Great near Palomar College. Null in Escondido.

Live hosts start a week from Monday, some familiar voices return.

Somebody call Dave Mason. They need him back in AM drive.

April 28. That is when a live morning show starts.

there signal isnt good...i work in poway, and power 106 covers it up.in lakeside, the same..they seem to have a huge playlist, but there transmitter isnt good.i pick up krth better than 105.7.its going to be hard to beat krth101.

There is too much classic rock on Walrus, leave it to KGB to burn out a perfectly good song. Focus on the pop oldies and don't be afraid to touch into the Glen Campbell/country cross over stuff. After all variety is the spice of life!

vonrolls-

That's what I figured with the signal for the Walrus. But parts of North County seem to be hard to cover for most SD stations because of terrain. The Mt. Wilson sticks seem to cover them as well or better.

BTW...Aren't you the one that really liked the old Power 106? I did too...That was a great station in it's heyday. They had a great sound and played a lot of stuff that just wasn't being played anywhere at the time (except for KMEL/SF)

"72,000 watts of music power, K-P-W-R Los Angeles....Power 1-0-6" Mucho Morales, Joe Nasty...Was a lot of fun....What radio should be like!

You know? That was about the only station I liked better than Q106 circa 1988, Power106, and I had the feeling that many listeners thought they were sister stations. Of course, that wasn't the case... Too bad they went in such a hip-hop direction.
I'll take a few dozen of those arichecks, please... :)

thats funny that u said that about sister stations.when i was in high school i listened to power 106.everyone thought i listened to Q 106.i proved it to them.at lunch time they came out to my car(i still own it to this day.)and told them to listen at the top of the hour.72000 watts of music power !less talk--KPWR LOS ANGELES! Power 106!!!!!!!!!!!!(sound of voltage))loved it.i changed alot of people that listened to Q106..i can only send them on cassette...

Holy Smokes!!

It's Saturday morning at 7:30 and I just turned on The Walrus...heard at least four songs...and never in my life have I heard such powerful and attractive processing. Compared to 105.7, K-EARTH 101 sounds like the K-Mart Public Address system. I'm serious, boys and girls. Go turn it on. I don't know what happened in the past day or so, but it's very, very good....and, I live in their fringe area here in the Oceanside area of North County.

As Clevon Little's character of Sheriff Bart said in Blazing Saddles: "Those boys are open for business!"

You can find the stream at walrusfm.com, which comes in handy during Padres games when the music continues exclusively on the stream..
