They didn't learn their lesson the first time?

What station is going to be blown up?

I'd put my money on KISS-FM, because they share a large amount of their audience with G105. G105 would shoot up in the ratings. However, KISS seems to keep WRAL in check, so I would not be too sure about that.

I would also believe that the River would be in line for execution. "Radio 96.1" is beating them by a mile. However, keeping River around would prevent WBBB from shooting up in the ratings and overtaking G105.

The River is lost. It has no direction at all anymore.

I've been a loyal listener to them for years... I actually liked the format. But I've changed to WSFL now. Raleigh listeners are probably going to 96.1.

There is not much Clear Channel can do anymore. They have destroyed classic rock twice, they tanked with country, Soft AC is a format of the past, Oldies is a format of the past, Their version of RockAC did not do real well. The only thing that is left for them to do is to A) Do a HOTAC format going after Mix and Radio96, but that would also pull from G & Kiss, so that is out. 2) Go straight up Urban and do it the way they do 106.5 out of Richmond and finish off K97. 3) Put some Rhythmic Urban titles in rotation on kiss and try and pull some from K97 4) Blow up 93.9 Kiss FM to another format, and make 100.7 a straight up Rhythmic Urban station and take out K97 & Pulse (Which is BORING, however it has good numbers for what it does surprisingly), however a pop station without American Idol crap is good. It is a matter of time before Clear Channel puts that cluster up for sale. Getting rid of Dick Harlow did not help anything either.

I'd love to see the talk format move to 100.7 but I'm not really sure there's a justification to moving it.

If they sell Raleigh off they might as well send 94.5/Greensboro off with it. It is only one step away from being a full simulcast of 106.1 at this point. I don't think I hear anything that originates in the triad on there anymore.

Not that I like CC, but pigs would have to gain aviation skills before CC sells.

Or, we could wait a few years, and have the debtors come in to tell CC that they have to sell.

None of it's stations rank below a 3 overall, but the formats on 100.7 and 106.1 tend to attract older demos then those on 93.9 and 104.7. So I would keep a close eye on those stations.

Here's a wild guess: Consolidate Kiss and G onto 93.9 and resurrect the "country giant" on 105.1? That is what the WDCG calls stood for back in the day (We're Durham's Country Giant)...

NO WAY! G is staying right where it is. I'm pretty sure Kiss is staying right where it is. Not so sure about 100.7. Uncle Don would be in for a world of hurt if his cash cow ever took a hit, but I doubt that CC will ever make a dent in QDR. The wildcard is 106.1. Remember, CC has handed Rush back to competitors in Boston and Atlanta in the past year

Rush Radio is one of CC/Raleigh's only success stories. They'd be crazy to give that up.

It's got to be either 93.9 or 100.7.

Actually, I forgot to mention one other format that could work on 100.7. I have been at a few Leaderships in Louisville and like on 100.3 or something, they have a station called Gen-X radio. I looked at the ratings for it and it tests well. That could make a dent in mix & radio 96.1. 93.9 would do better if they put some high test classic jams in rotation. Their Rhythmic AC in Norfolk does that. 107.7 or something. I was up there one weekend doing an event in Newport News a year ago. The river would be better if it did not sound like an Ipod with sweepers.

How about 93.9 goes back to the Rhythmic AC format it had before Pulse signed on?? Kiss sounded great as a Rhythmic AC station. But it would probably be 100.7 in the end so put Urban on and take K out of it's misery.
