What's going on at 990 AM?

Anyone know what's going on at 990 AM? For the last few nights I've been getting them crystal clear. Normally at night in the part of Southington I live in I can pick up a weak signal from WXCT, fighting with WLGZ Rochester, NY and WALE Greenville, RI. Now there's no sign of the other two stations and WXCT is blasting in.

I would email WXCT's GM, but I'm not sure if he's around. An aquaintence of mine told me he sent them an email a couple weeks ago and he still hasn't heard back from them. In the past my emails to their GM have been answered in a prompt manner. Usually with in a day. (Sometimes in only hours).

Does their telephone still work? 860-621-1754

Someone from the station must read this board. I just check at 945 and the signal is back to its normal nite pattern and it wasn't just over an hour ago.

Don't you work there? I assumed you did since you've mentioned this little station quite a bit in the past few years.

I listen to their Italian programming on Sunday mornings regularly and enjoy it, but that's the only time I'll ever turn this station on. They did seem very weak this Sunday as I was driving into downtown Hartford trying to listen.

I haven't been involved with this station since August 2004, after my brokerage contract got cancelled because Anda Productions, the Hispanic company leasing 6AM-6PM decided they wanted to lease the station 24/7. (Minus Sundays 7AM-3PM). Mine wasn't the only brokerage contract that got cancelled. There were a couple other people buying time after 6PM who's contracts were cancelled.

I liked this station since 1993. I used to listen to it all the time. The only time I ever had to change the station would be after 830PM sign off and on Sundays when they ran foreign language programming. I didn't listen when they went Spanish the first time in 1999, but started listening again when they went urban in October 2000. I interned there on and off from October 2002 until they announced the sale of the station in the Spring of 2004. A couple weeks after they went Spanish I was offered a timeslot. I got a 2 hour block on Friday Nights for $20/week. There was an additonal fee to stream online, since most my show was after they powered down to 80 watts. I have yet to find out about returning to the station as an inten even though they been back on with English Language programming since October.

WXCT's signal in Hartford depends on 2 factors - 1). What part of Hartford your in. And 2). What type of radio you use. Also there was a regular caller to the Thom Morgan Morning show (which aired 2/04-5/04) who lived in Glastonbury. He said 990's signal was crystal clear during the day on a regular table radio.
