I like Sunny's playlist lately. It's a lot more current. I noticed they're playing a lot more current stuff like "Just A Kiss" by Lady Antebellum and "If I Die Young"... still think Mix 1079 is the best sounding station in that building though.
Actually, the October 6+ AQH share of 5.7 is quite typical for Sunny, although they went through an even higher stretch in the spring and early summer, getting as high as 8.1. If you're referring to them falling three notches in the rankings in the current book I wouldn't read much into that,.because Sunny stayed basically flat (5.9 -> 5.7), and it's still within one share of the three stations that jumped over them. And in key demos I'm sure they're doing even better. In fact, Taylor on Radio-Info just reported that on the latest quarterly call Saga CEO Ed Christian cited Columbus as a standout in performance for the company recently (although I supposed that could also include Rewind, Mix and general good selling practices to some degree). Sunny can't directly sell based on ratings anyway since Saga doesn't subscribe to Arbitron.
And yes LJO, I've also taken note of how much more current Sunny has gone. That's happening to a lot of mainstream ACs, but maybe even more so at Sunny. I thought they might also increase the tempo to go along with that, but I see little sign that that's happening. Well, maybe to some degree...e.g., doubt you would have heard Whitesnake on Sunny in the past.
Last Sunday morning, Dino was co-hosting on the WCMH-TV local news.
Dino said that when he was hired 18 years ago, he thought he would only last a year because by then the station would realize what a horrible mistake they made in hiring him.
