What's Going On With 101.5

Bueler? Anyone? Is it anything more than a high powered translator?

That's it for now. They changed the legal ID to include "KMJE Woodland" but are still branding as 92-1 KHits. So that leads me to believe the simulcast is only temporary...for now at least.

I was thinking the same thing but practicing restraint in posting on this thread to not sound like a skipping record.

Just so its noted, 101.5 was also kept in limbo for a long time while it still broadcasted from Gridley and simulcasted 95.5 in Yuba City, where its original "Sunny" format was dumped.,we may be left waiting for awhile

I imagine that was done to convert listeners and get them to start listening to the 95.5 signal.

I listened last night (or it may have been the night before) and was still amazed at the intermittent trouble they're having with their STL. The audio looses sync at times and sounds terrible. I'm surprised to see this still happening given the amount of time its been since they signed on. I'm also surprised we haven't seen any movement from Results. This is Sacramento, not Chico, something has to pay the power bill to keep that thing running, right? :)

A former co worker of mine who knows the Results chief engineer says they've had some technical hold up due to lines being installed at the transmitter site. I guess there isn't much in the way of existing wiring in the area? That's as of a conversation about 2 weeks ago when he said they thought they were 6-8 weeks out to having it finalized. The bad connection you're hearing is probably a wireless internet setup. That's according to a conversation I had with a mutual acquaintance a couple of weeks ago so I don't know if that is still the case. Our conversation wasn't about 101.5, it just came up when we were talking about Sacramento radio and the 107.1 upgrade I guess he's done some work on.

Surprised they'd be using wireless Internet instead of a MW STL, perhaps they were having an issue getting a licensed frequency.

What is the future for 107.1, still trying to figure that one out. :)

Is their CE up in Chico or down here in Sacramento?

I still can't figure out CC's interest in 107.1. They are branding "News Radio KFBK, now at 92.5 FM". Is the intent to replace 92.5 with 107.1?

I think the wireless internet is temporary while other stuff gets installed. At least that's how it sounded to me. I can't imagine they could use wireless internet forever.

Moving KFBK to 107.1 is most likely, but that's my own guess. I do not know.

I think their CE is in Sac, because Chico has a different engineer... a guy that used to work here in Vegas.

FM simulcast for KSTE perhaps?

Nope. Not sure what Results would gain by doing that unless they sell to CC. Not even sure it's possible since Clear Channel owns 6 stations in Sacramento (can't remember the cap).

I was refering to the 107.1 translator, not KMJE 101.5

Interesting. I heard the translator is still owned by EMF despite it being listed as a simulcast of KFBK-FM. I too am curious about the future of 107.1.

Anyone know if KCCL has installed their permanent STL to the 101.5 site?

I haven't been through Sac since my Tahoe trip several weeks ago. Did they get their STL issues fixed?

Fccinfo.com doesn't list a microwave license for KCCL. Maybe they upgraded to a T1 line?

The audio quality seems to have improved slightly as I haven't heard the dropouts lately.
