What's going on with AM710 KIRO?

Seems to mostly be simulcasting with 97.3, the former KBSG signal. I've heard RUMOURS of 710 becoming an ESPN sports station, but how is that possible? As far as I know KJR 950 is ESPN sports, though they really do alot of local programming monday thru friday. KRKO 1380 is also ESPN, but their signal is pretty weak and really only serves Snohomish County.

No mystery here cowboy. Check the Times or PI from about two months ago. KIRO AM will go all sports with ESPN on April 1 and will have the Mariners. KJR gets a cowpie for 2009 and whatever fox sports they can dredge up. All news and talk goes to KIRO-FM 97.3 April 1. Right now the FM alone is number one in Seattle :p Sports on 710 with ole ESPN and Mariners ???

Your post clearly indicates you've either just moved here or are out of the market. I recommend going thorough old posts in this forum so you can get a handle on what's really going on in the market rather than looking foolish with posts like this.

Great idea pro and very welcoming, that will keep these boards from having any fresh blood and new thinking. I'm sure all your posts have been pearls!

I'm not a cowboy, but thanks for the info!

I'm not the one lookin' foolish here, my friend! I posed a question, along with my observation about what has been going on the last few months. [EDIT]

It was actually a good question, Mack Daddy. Don't let some old grouch discourage you. The story of KIRO FM and AM will be the radio story of 2009 in this market. Many listeners still doesn't get it, despite weeks of on-air mentions. To move that audience exclusively over to FM will be a challenge worth watching.

OK, I see radiopro gets away with talkin' smack, and I get edited. I see how this game is played. I guess this board doesn't allow for intelligent discussion. I asked a simple question, and instead of just answering the question you just call names. Thanks for showing how grown-up you are, and you know who I'm talkin' about!

If it goes ESPN, it will be just a low-key remake of KSPN in Los Angeles, also on 710.

Hey Mack Daddy,
Your post was a fair question. If your like me I don't have the time to read this board several times a day and stay up to the minute on every issue. Once in a while I'll ask a "stupid" question and someone will bit%$. We have a lot of great posters here and a few turds. I too have had my posts "edited" or bounced after I commented and made a TOS error. No biggy. It's Radio-Infos board.

Thanks, KC.
You're the type of person I was hoping to have dialogue with on here!
