what's going on with Mixx-FM in Terre Haute?

It seems like the whole staff has changed. I drive thru the area every week, but missed what happened. Was there a walk out? I heard some guy named Bill today...he said he worked there in the past. Maybe there flipping soon or something, because currently its pretty boring for a CHR.

New mornings/PD ... and evenings recently ... I think both of them got jobs in bigger markets.

But I could be thinking of WSTO down south ;)

Check out their website. www.1007mixfm.com They are bringing in a new morning show, and the pd is sitting in during the meantime. I don't know what happened with the house-cleaning, though. I heard they wanted to start over. I guess some of the sales staff was let go too.

Not sure what's going on in Terre Haute, but this is eerily similar to what's going on at crossroads. Maybe it's the economy...

I worked at 100.7 from 1977 to 1980 when it was WVTS and its studios were on U.S. 40 in West Terre Haute. Bob Rouse was the GM, Keith Gaddis the GSM, Jim Wright the News Director. The on-air staff included me, R.J. Cortrecht, Tom Lisella and others whose names I've forgotten after all these years. My initial reaction to Terre Haute was that there were way too many radio stations licensed to a city as small as TH. Maybe that's still the problem...a market too small to support that many stations?

The Frenchman might be on to something in this current radio era... I do want to say, whoever the midday gal was at B-102.7 sounded really together when I was on my way to Fort Wayne a couple of weeks ago.. I also was surprised by their approach to a hot ac with an adult chr flow... Only things I thought were to 'over the top' were the 'narrowed position liners' that tend to stereotype a station.. Some listeners who like the format and may be in the secondary demograhic would think, after hearing them; "Oh! I guess they don't want me, I am too young or too old".... Their mic processing needed some help, as well (good cheap stuff would fix that problem... Mix? Oh well! Sounds like a mix between transistion, position and starting fresh...

Skip: Middays at WBOW-FM is Julie Hendricks. They play B 102.7 in my "hair salon," and I agree ... she does sound like a good fit.

Glad to hear theres a new morning show coming, cause Bill isn't very good. Any idea who's coming in? If there starting over, did something major go down? Do you suppose theres new calls, or moniker or flipping to something else?

Wikipedia (I know it's not exactly reliable) lists the new Mixfm Morning Mess as coming soon? Maybe a new team coming in, instead of just sticking a couple of people together? Thoughts?

I wouldn't get your hopes up for more than 2 personalities....
