What's going on with WABC?

Last week when Curtis Sliwa was supposed to be on from 8-10PM, there were various sports games on instead. leaving Curtis to only be on the air for 7 minutes one night (and it was a great 7 minutes). Now, I talked to the person taking the calls at WABC, and they said that Curtis Sliwa is returning to mornings, Bob Grant will be back on from 8-10 at night, and Laura Ingraham will remain where she is, all starting next week.

That begs the question, what's up with WABC? Their major local host, Curtis Sliwa, is already national airing on WTKK and KABC, but his syndicated show is not live at night on WABC. Are they waiting until Decemeber, or maybe the 1st of the year to change their schedule? And, what is the future of Curtis Sliwa's syndication w/out WABC coming on board which was supposed to happen last Wendesday?

This should be a concern for WABC listeners who enjoy listening to Bob Grant Grant and Curtis Sliwa with their local shows.

With Grant reduced to one hour a night, is he going to be as effective compared to two hours of airtime?

And the New York Metro Area is the largest metro area in the country and needs some local shows tha appeal to the New York area, especially when it comes to politics.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

I listened to Curtis yesterday and he said that WABC was "not ready" to have his national show. Bob Grant's show will still be two hours for now. I thought Curtis' show was 10 to 1 anyways, so Bob Grant's show should remain intact shouldn't it? Curtis must really love his job. Getting up for a 5am show, then do a show from 10am to 12pm, then do a three hour national show until 1am? Even as a left of center person, I have to admire his work ethic, and his show is actually pretty good.

Correction to your post: Sliwa will NOT be heard at night on WABC.
