Thank the great FoReal? for that.
And there was one time, I think it was on the Off The Air board, someone had a post that said "Mana Mana". So I responded with "Doo Doo Da Doo Doo".

I really enjoyed it and think it is a great movie, too. It should be required viewing for all aspiring radio & tv "journalists".

By the way, the Joe McCarthy hearings are just the setting. This movie is about Murrow, Fred Friendly, Bill Paley and the very beginning days of tv journalism.

Teen talk is no longer a show.

Admittedly I don’t listen to KNON all that much. But one time I tuned in, I could have sworn they aired a commercial. It sure sounded like one anyway, with borderline call-to-action type wording. Do they still do this?

Too bad, prolly replaced it with a crappy superblock of "energy" tejano jams. KNON hasnt really been the same since Rob Spray (DJ Stereotype) passed away,he really was an intrigual part of the program staff. I personally wish Dave Chaos would stand up to the agape board, put those angry SOBs in their place, and let them expand the "rock block" programming to saturdays from noon until midnight, "Energy 89.3" has been a joke for years, IMHO

I make it a point of not discussing the station I work for on this board. Suffice it to say, it's one of the most consistently successful operations in the market. Most of the people I work with have been here for more than a decade. Some more than two decades. That's a life-time in radio years. It's a good shop, with good people and decent facilities. The local air product they put out is top notch. I'm just glad to have a small part in it.

The news department, provided they don't shrink it anymore,is the redeeming part of the station. The sports department(when it existed)was top notch. The station has some very good field reporters. The rest of station is what show can be more Rush than Rush? The Midnight Trucking Network is not even close to what it once was, provided you can hear it despite the deluge of spots. The Talk shows seem to center on "buy my book". WBAP should expand their news in the afternoons like they once had.The need is there.

KNON billboard -- 75 Central south of Forest Lane

Just FYI -- I spotted a KNON billboard on the eastside of 75 Central just south of Forest Lane in Dallas.

Not certain if you can see it from 75, but you can driving north on the service road.

Colorful ... busy ... lots of information about the station's programming.

Sorry,I was too busy signing autographs.:):) It was a masterful piece of recreating waht it was like in the 50's in relation to free speech and government. Clooney did it right by filming in black and white. It might get a nod fpor an oscar but the in the minor catagories. This is a must see for anyone who is now or desires to be a journalist. "SEE IT NOW!";)

Give it another try.

I agree with KPLEX. The trucking network is not as exciting as it once was before. Turning it into a talk show was a idea. Too many spots, and the subjects have been beaten to death. Eric is better off in a music format.

Staions that are doing Rock Music justice in the DFW Market:

Hey, list a bunch of stuff you'd like to hear.

I'm serious.

List the groups and the songs ... all you can think of ...

ASAP.

What I would like to hear on local DFW Rock radio stations would first of all be a deletion of about 90% of what 92.5 and The Bone have in Regular Rotation.
Put all those songs that get airplay every day into once-a-week rotation, for example..... And then play all the other great music from most of the same artists. This would include --good-- LIVE versions of their works, and -NOT- just Live versions of the songs --already-- now, in rotation.

There's no point in listing what I think would like played --instead-- of the current rotation. It's really a no-brainer to pick the "FM" tracks from all of these albuns.... if you have an "FM" mind, vs. an "AM" mindset.

Playing --anything-- over-and-over again is offensive to someone with an "FM" mindset. It's not going to happen, becuase I refuse to be offended with the same old songs, just so that I --might-- hear something good other than the rotation melase.
