What's Happening At WIQR In Prattville

I ask this because their new web site: http://www.wiqrcame.net/index.html has them listed as a spanish oriented format. Is this station changing hands and/or their entire format? I know Spanish has a huge amount of time on here already.  Wondering if this station is fixing to become all spanish all the time?

It's quite possible. Spanish programming seemed to be one of the very few niches not covered in some form or fashion in the Gump metro. In fact, the only non-Spanish programming I've heard in quite a while was the Sunday morning gospel and church programming which has been a stalwart for years. Usually the weekend programming, sans church time, is the national ESPN Desportes feed, and during the week it's primarily Spanish talk, local and network. Could a translator at 94.1 or (less likely) 98.3 or (even less likely) 103.9 be in the works to get a more-quality 24 hour signal?

The nighttime signal in Montgomery is still respectable inside the Eastern and Southern bypasses.

Now eyes are turning to the sale of 1250 WRBZ Wetumpka and its weak at best translator at 95.5. Will WRBZ return to the golden days of WETU and fill the classic country niche in town since east Alabama's switched the alt rock Tiger format to 93.9 and relegated the classic country Eagle to a weaker 95.9, a virtual no-show in metro Montgomery.

1410 in Prattville is piece of crap, they have a directional day and night signal that has never been properly tuned since the early 90's

The FCC should shut them down.

The owners, or anyone else in the metro for that matter, could always negotiate for a 25 kw AM daytime (and minimal power night timer) currently silent only 30 miles to its east (the previous 1130 AM WACQ).

30 miles closer to KWKH Shreveport shouldn't affect patterns and power all that much. And the directional changes would be absolutely miniscule at best.
