WHAT'S HAPPENNING?

With Urban AC format
Another great Syndicated Show gone from "Superadio Network" "Cafe Mocha" is not listed with them anymore.
Does Walt Baby Love continue to host "The Countdown"
Usher is now starting to perform Dance Music, and Spanish HOT AC music.
I hope this format can survive?
Your thoughts?

In several markets the dominant Urban AC actually now gets the big urban numbers in the PPM era - Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, etc.

Walt Baby Love Countdown still airs but mostly in small markets. His gospel show Gospel Traxx has more stations. It airs Sundays in the westcoast on Clear Channels Rhythmic AC stations KHYL Sacramento and KQOD Stockton.

Usher can sell more records by making Dance electropop music vs. than only focusing on Hip Hop and R&B listeners. He still caters to his roots its called evolving with the times.

Superadio has a history of dropping syndicated shows because station are not interested in them.

The urban format and music is still strong. I agree with Schlarm111 Urban AC is strong in large Black markets.

I listen to Cafe mocha on HUR VOICES channel 141 XM radio. This is a new cool channel from WHUR HD2 that features both urban music shows and African American talk shows.

overhere in Boston, we have no (True) Urban AC Radio Stations
The cloest we have is about Three (Pirate) Radio Stations. One is Hip Hop/Urban Hot 87.7, another is Caribbean/Hip Hop Big City 101.3, and the other is Urban AC/Talk Touch 106.1. You can only get those three stations in Boston's Three Urban Cities (Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan) Some people may be able to get them in more cities, depending what kind of radio and antanna you have. But for the most part, you can only get those stations in those three Urban Cities in Boston. If you have a computer, they do broadcast online.
We also have (Funkytown 93.7 HD 2)

Other than that, we have no (True) Urban AC station in Boston.

Hartford, Ct has one :( 1480am
Why not Boston?

Phoenix has two Rythmic Ac's(But only oldies) but we have 92.7 Oldies hiphop too. What I would like is a station in phoenix that plays new urban ac hits too.

KAJM and KYOT are the closet thing to Urban AC in Pheniox. Western states cant support full blown Urban AC's with neo soul because they dont appeal to Hispanics. Would be nice though

Seattle, Wa has one it is 1620am ZTwins. They use Urban AC (Cumulus Radio Network-"The Touch") Network almost 24/7.
"The Touch" is one of my favorite "Urban AC" They are one of the best

I just learned that "Cafe Mocha" is now with Cumulus Media Networks. That's good news, to say that this show will be around and continue. Wish it was on in Boston area, but as I said few lines above, we have no true Urban AC here in Boston.
I don't know why HOT AC or AC stations can't just put on this type of show? Why not? It's only two hours? Two Hours wouldn't hurt.
