Just because Clear Channel can. After all, they did change the name and call letters of its Atlanta AC station from Peach 94.9 (WPCH) to 94.9 Lite FM (WLTM) a few years back. The WPCH/Peach name were around for over 30 years. Even if KRQ were to rebrand, methinks it could be rebranded as Channel rather than Kiss since most of CC's recent rebrandings have been Channel (Wichita, Dayton and Detroit). <P ID="signature">______________

Please tell me that you idiots are not really expecting KRQ to change...they have just come off their best numbers not only with Jonjay and Rich but the station as a whole. I would think CC has other things to focus on than KRQ at this time.

You can quit sniffing CC's butt now while you're at it. I think the station sounds worse now than ever. I'll give credit where it is due, and CC is great at tweaking KRQ's playlist whenever a new station arrives in town to try to connect with those listeners before they become loyal to the new station. Once they've got 'em hooked in, the playlist changes to the same cookie-cutter predictability as usual. Forget that they would/should have their own personality.
You're right about one thing though. What is with KTZR? What is the point of having the station announced in Spanish AND English when there is no English music being played? I love their committment to the "in English" page that is STILL under construction on their website. If they're not going to commit to attracting English-speaking listeners, then they should give up on it all together. Wouldn't you agree that the people listening to the Spanish music probably could recognize the NAME of the station in Spanish as well?
