Looking at the last few rating periods, its obvious that a good Alternative format would fit right in and do very well. Please no been there done that remarks, its 2016.

Sounds like a great project for a college radio station.
Yep, anyone who's ever looked at NYC radio numbers in the money demos will tell you that the city moves to an uptempo, rhythmic beat, and all other musical formats are doomed to be niche or worse.
it'd likely do better than WNSH
To be honest, saying it would do better than Nash isn't much of a sales pitch.
That is basically saying "take a full signal and you can do as well as a limited not-full-market signal".

Alt is just old white guys - boring.
So that's like saying, all Rap Hip Hop formats cater to Black Thugs, or Hispanic to Illegals, that was the most idiotic statement I have ever read on this board, you really have a problem, or just fishing for flame wars.
InsideRadio has an article today giving providing some interesting details concerning Nash FM's ratings. It was surprising to read that it does considerably better with male demos than females. I thought that Country is usually a female leaning format.
The article indicates that Nash gets pretty strong ratings with males 25-34. Is that not a demo that Alternative would be seeking? So if the implication of some of the previous posters is that Nash should switch to Alternative, perhaps Country gets comparable ratings with the target demo, while being more attractive to advertisers?

"Spanish" is a language not a race. The proper word is "Hispanic" or "Spanish speakers".Not the same - rap is listened by black - white - spanish - guys - girls.
If thats the worst you ever read here then evidently you havent read much here.
You didnt start with a cap & end with a period - so if we wanna get all wierd n picky.it'd likely do better than WNSH
Isnt the story though that they want a country outlet in NY as part of their overall NASH package - so the NASH NY ratings arent AS important because its more of a NASH big picture outlook.
Also i think men might lead in some country demos but overall if they did like an overall 18-54 then woman would win - but probably not by much.
