What's "New" at The Coast?

What old is new again. Kool-96.7 Stamford (oldies) flipped years ago to 96.7 The Coast.

Okay, a song isn't classified as "new" after months of airplay. Car models and married couples are not "new" or newlywed after a year (let alone new TV shows in the fall)

How then can The Coast continue to refer to itself (on air and on their web site) as "The New 96.7 The Coast"?

I had mentioned that very fact many threads ago, only to be poo-pooed. Well, it's only a matter of time when the programming will really be "new" with the change in ownership.

It took six years for "The New 100FM The Pike" in Southbridge-Worcester, MA to become just "100FM The Pike." Who knows what people are thinking. I can't really think of a reason for stations to call themselves "new" for years at a time. I know other stations in CT have done it, and stations around the country. I just honestly can't think of a possible reason to do it.

For words: It's a Cox thing. So pending the finalization of the sale to EMF, they'll be "new" until their dying day.

Check out Cox's 80's station in Tampa - "The New 101.5 The Point" - and get back to me.

Is Hot 93.7 of Hartford still calling themselves "All New"? Laughable, considering next month will make 10 years since that format started!

Sometimes the All New tag goes with the music the station plays. As Hot 93.7 most of the music they play is new with the recurrents mixed in.

As for Hot 93.7 saying All New, did they still say it when 104.1 flipped to Power? I can't remember.
