What's up with new Lubbock TV?

So Azteca America appeared over the air on channel 24 for awhile... now KGLR resides on Channel 24 and not Channel 30. Did they make the move permanently? I found Azteca America on channel 69 last night (very clear in SW LBB btw).

TBN is over the air on channel 44. Is there a reason that Ramar broadcasts UPN on both channels 14 and 22? I noticed that Ramar took control of KWBZ The WB 23 (cable only) from Cox. It would be nice if they could put it on 14 or 22!

Anybody know anything about all these new local tv moves?

Re: What's up with new Lubbock TV?

I've been wondering the same thing.

I think 14 and 22 come different sticks (just a guess). For a while, they pulled UPN off of 14 but now it's back.

Being how they're low frequencies, I don't see why they don't put Fox on 14, UPN on 22, and WB on 34?

They are on diff sticks (14 & 22)... 14 is LPTV so Fox will never move off of 34. 22 is not LPTV but not near as much power as 34. I think I got my own answer though...

Ramar is running promos for Lubbock's WB 22, KWBZ. I guess the simulcast is ending and we'll have The WB on 22 with UPN Lubbock remaining on 14 only. Works for me.

Wow, talk about illogical decisions!
Moving the more established network to a low power frequency? Most markets have a UPN, and less have a WB. And yet, WB gets 22?

You got to wonder how RAMAR makes any money at all...

Uh oh, RAMAR may want to rethink its plans!

WB on 22 could be a VERY SHORT RUN!

I don't know... I personally think The WB has better programming than UPN. UPN has affiliates in more markets due to The WB's rules that only larger markets have an affiliate that isn't cable-only. I guess Lubbock has graduated to "larger" market status!

It also makes sense since Ramar has been positioning UPN as UPN Lubbock and not UPN 22. By the way, I also noticed on the FCC's website that KUPT 22 Wolfforth had its calls changed to KWBZ 22 as of 12/15/05. KUPT-LP Lubbock remains "KUPT."

What I don't understand, however, is Ramar's promos currently running that state that The WB is now on "Lubbock's WB22, KWBZ." The UPN simulcast is still running as of tonight. My guess is that the flip has something to do with the feeds getting switched at Cox/Cebridge.
