What's next for Elizabeth Yates?

Elizabeth Yates is too good at what she does not to be on the air somewhere. The problem is now that she's worked at Connecticuts number one station WEBE 108 anything she does is going to be a step down. Still has anyone heard anything in the pipeline for her signing up with another station?

I find it hard to believe that webe IS Ct's number one station. Do you really think they out cume WTIC am or WRCH? How is it that working anywhere else is a step down? She could try her hand in mamagement...That sounds like a new challenge rather than a step down. She could try a new day part...Mid days or am drive or afternoon drive...There's lots that she or most CT lifer dj's can and will do.

She actually did daytime back when she was at my old engineering home, WMMM 1260 (which use to be the AM sister station to Westport's 107.9 signal many, many years ago prior to the WEBE call letter change). I hope she bounces back. While I never met her personally she sounds great on the air and from what people we know in common she sounds like a nice person as well. I'm sure she'll jump back into on-air when she finds something.

I think Elizabeth got the boot for budget reasons, sister station WICC
had picked up David Smith for a mid-day talkshow. To justify his
paycheck Cumulus Bridgeport (Curt and Ann) had to figure out a way
to make coporate happy and stay within budget limits.
So in comes David Smith, out goes Elizabeth and the return of automation at nights.

From what I heard it was the fact that the numbers she was bringing in were soft when compared to either what they had or what Star was pulling in. Delilah on Star was beating Yates in the same time period from what I remember when I read the copy of the ARBs.

I certainly understand things are done for financial reasons, but I still thought she did a well as far as on-air presentation goes.

Bill, if you're right that Yates was yanked because of Delilah, that will make her the third person affected by Delilah. Glenn Hollis of After Hours was pulled because his syndicator decided he couldn't compete with Delilah. JJ Kennedy at Lite FM was outrageously dumped after years of loyal service to make room for Delilah. Now Elizabeth Yates. It seems only one person has benefited from Delilah, and that's Catherine Michaels on WHUD who took over for Delilah when her syndicator terminated their relationship with WHUD in favor of WLTW. The best part for Michaels is at least unlike Yates she's safe from being fired no matter what numbers she draws. They can't bring back Delilah, and the alternative John Tesh is already being run by chief Hudson Valley rival WFAS.

She has been doing fill in shifts on Cumulus' Y105 / WDBY in Danbury. Sounds great!

I, for one am very glad to hear her back on the airwaves- Y105radio.com.. check out the website- that's how I've been listening all day at work!
