What's on 91.3?

I hear all this music from India or the Middle East on 91.3. The DJs speak in a different language that is not spanish or Asian. What is this station?

You didn't say where you are located. But possibly this: http://www.asianfmusa.com

And a frequency/coverage list: http://www.asianfmusa.com/images/coveragemap.jpg

These websites don't appear to have been updated for a long time, so it is possible that some other entity has taken over the translators.

FCC records show the licensee as "Best Media, Inc." A quick Google search didn't turn up anything useful as to who they are.

I recall these stations were discussed on this board a few years ago.

In Prairie View there is a station on 91.3 playin rap hiphop r&b in 06 I think they upgraded to 40kw

I think Mediafrog is on target with this one: if you're on the far west side of town you're probably hearing the translator that's licensed to Barker:
www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=K217DP&service=FX&status=L&hours=U As you can see it's really close to the KPVU coverage area and they had to go directional to the southeast for that reason. R-L shows that they're rebroadcasting KAFR 88.3 from Conroe; I believe they did for a while when they signed on a few years ago. The Best Media people also own K217DJ, a translator in Kemah that's on 91.3, as referred to on the "AsianFM USA" website mentioned earlier.

If you're on the east side of Houston you may be hearing KVLU in Beaumont.

KVLU is all classical.....no other ethnic programming on it afaik!

You're getting the LP from Kemah - though it isn't always on. Sometimes I do get KVLU on 91.3, but usually when I want to hear KVLU, I get the ethnic programming...
