What's on WURD? Anubody listen to this station?

I'm out of town looking at station web sites. There's not one for WURD. What do they run and does anybody listen? WHat about WWDB? Is Imus still getting an audience?

WURD runs black-oriented talk shows, I believe some former WHAT hosts. They don't show up in the measurable numbers, I guess they pick up some of the audience that used to listen to WHAT in the hours (12-7pm) that they run Air America. The station has never had ratings that I remember since they split from WFLN way back, first as Talk 900 WDVT with Frank Ford & Peter Tilden and since.

WWDB is brokered-type financial shows after Imus, they did show up at the very bottom of the measurable Spring 12+ ratings.

I would call it Racial Talk, honest, and sometimes they can get extremely vicious and anti-white with their programs and hosts. After 10PM they go to live CNN news and have some gospel and specialty shows on the weekends. I believe the former owner of WHAT, Cody Anderson, is running the ship. I cannot understand why you cannot receive them, for 1kw-Directional-Day and whatever power they are running this week at night, they seem to get out really far. I have picked them up as far as the Jersey beaches during the day, without any skip. Can someone say, hey FCC, what gives??

Saintrichard, TurkeyJones, whatever name you're using, please let it go about WURD. They're licensed for 1 kW day, and 105 watts at night using two different directional patterns. Also, please dump the run-on sentences. They make you look like a semi-literate...

Re: Thanks

Most of the WWDB shows come from the co-owned station in Florida.

I would imagine the Spring numbers they got were because of Imus, since he was on for the entire 6-9 syndicated show (few stations carry the 9-10 hour as it is mostly geared for NYC).

The station's problem is teh late sign-on and early sign-off during the fall andwinter. They lose most of teh morning and afternoon drive audience because they arent on the air. Given the WFAN signal strength, most Imus listeners will tune in 660 and then forget about 860.

Re: Thanks

Here is the website for WWDB AM 860. http://www.wwdbam.com/ It has their program schedule on it. Sundays the schedule has Health Talk Listed on it. I smell infomercials. I used to inten at a station in suburban Hartford, Connecticut and we carried infomercials and most were these bogus health shows. They were really ridiculous too "Buy This Product and you're guarenteed to live to 150 years old or your money back". "Buy this Product to lose 2000 pounds in 2 weeks" "Buy this product to regrow your hair in as little as 6 hours".

At least the racisit talk in Philly is on two flea powered AM stations. Here in Connecticut the racist talk is on Saturday Mornings on WYBC-FM 94.3 in New Haven, which is a commercial station owned by Yale University. It's sales are handled by COX Radio.

Who made you god??? You sound like someone with a bad attitude, you don't even know me nor what I am about. I thought this was a free board for posters to post whatever is radio oriented, not to be flamed for no apparant reason. Instead of being belegeren and accusing me of something which is not true, why don't you listen to that flea powered station you seem to be associated with and hear the word about casting the first stone and accusing wrongly.

To really appreciate IMUS IN THE MORNING tune to 660AM WFAN from 5:30AM-10AM or watch him on MSNBC from 6AM-9PM. WWDB has ruined the IMUS Show by cutting the fourth hour. Their local cutins are poor also. I doubt they get much of an audience at all.

Hopefully the students at Yale know the difference between "it's" and "its".<P ID="signature">______________
