What's PYX up to?

I like listening to WPYX because I can identify with the classic rock hits because i played them for a living when they were new. Yikes. That dates me. Anyway, lately I've been hearing some strange tracks on PYX during PM drive and the evening. Doesn't sound like new stuff and if it is...its lousy with a capitol L. Anyone have any idea what gives. Maybe some jock just having fun and I heard it. HEY Veto...whasssss up over there???

PYX is probably doing a little rotation "tweak"...based on research done in Cleveland or somewhere-not-here. They will definitely react in some way to Galaxy and ABC.

One of the BEST things about Vito, and what many of you never pick up on, is that with Vito, it's what you DON'T hear that makes him a hero....some serious overplayed crap comes up on the Selector list during his shift, and he refuses to play them.

How many Doors hits were there? How many do you hear on PYX? Two, maybe three...that's where PYX sucks! When was the last time you heard "Love Street" or any other deeper classic tracks? Not too many surprises on PYX.

As for "new" old tunes coming up on air....some like em, some don't. The people complaining when a few new old ones get put in are the same people who complain that playlists are too tight.

I prefer to hear a chestnut every now and then, and hate it when it gets added to rotation.....like right now, I have a hankering for "157 Riverside Avenue" from REO Speedwagon. or J. Giels "Sanctuary"..but I don't want to hear them every other day!

Those songs would have to be be dayparted to play only from 7p-3a.....

It's kinda sad when the best "local" night rock show belongs to fearless Alice Cooper.

Different strokes.....

I started something new during the Drive at 5 today called "The Gear Shifter". You probably heard "Country Girl" from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. I'm trying to give people a little taste of something different then what's heard every day on the air. Some may like it and some may not. They can either give me the credit or give me the blame because it was my idea and my choice of song.

I love you Uncle Vito!

You're the best! (And If anyone wants to disagree with me, that's certainly your choice... But it's my choice to invite you to take it outside......)
