with the decline of 102.3 Kiss FM and the other two CHR-based formats both owned by the same company (CHR/Mainstream FLY and CHR/Rhythmic Jamz). =D
Interesting that Tanch is being reassigned from FLY to program JAMZ if that's true.

I thought you knew this, with your ABC connections...

Any other recent news on 105.7? Haven't really been checking for any new domains or anything yet...

I wonder if they'll go with a name like "Z105.7" for the new format to keep the WBZZ calls, or if they'll try to take WHRL or WXLE (if either of them are still available)... but I haven't heard anything official yet for a new format or anything ???

I truly don't think 105.7 is going classic rock or modern rock, as they don't want to eat away at Q103's market share. Something like progressive talk, oldies or CHR/rock is more likely at this point ;)

The WXLE calls aren't available although WHRL is...and those call letters were in use for exactly 34 years on 103.1. Classic Hits/Rock could work on 105.7 and would not really hurt Q-103 with its mostly modern Active Rock approach.

Now that we're in the final weeks before Christmas, when do you think 105.7 will stop their Christmas music and launch their new format? I'm thinking it'll be between sometime on Christmas Day (hmm, why does 10:57 AM sound so tempting? :p) and one of the following Mondays (either December 27 or January 3) :)

Of course, they could always stop prematurely, like some others have when flipping formats ;)

Maybe........just, maybe...... they'll REMAIN all-Christmas  Wouldn't THAT be a ratings grabber!!
