hey when did WVCC AM 720 the Voice get a new show? The new one is from 10 am to 12pm, which is the time slot that Ludlow Porch occupied. I think Ludlow had a big following in the area. Also...what happened to Josh from the afternoon show on 720?

I wish they would put Ludlow back on. Thats about the only station I can pick up in mid-Ga that carried Ludlow. And we need to hear a little down home radio every once in a while.

Just another example of Clear Channel putting its bank account ahead of common sense. Why dump a program that's popular across some parts of the South for a show that nobody has ever heard of?

I have a funny feeling the numbers disagreed with that assessment.

I have a feeling that the GM didn't want ludlow on the station anymore.I have heard from several listeners Ludlow was a major key to the success of the line up and station.

Perhaps, and we all know how finely attuned "several listeners" are to the listening habits of the market overall.

I love this! When we carry a syndicated show we get beat up for not being "live and local"... then when we take a syndicated show off to put on a 100% live and local show we get beat up for doing that! 720 The Voice is now "Live and Local" from sign on till noon and then again from three till six. We carry Rush from noon to three and Braves pregame and Fox sports from six till signoff. How many other small market station can you name that can say that? Even the most ardent Ludlow listeners have told us how much they like our new "Curt Snider Show" that replaced Ludlow from 10a-12n. Curt is not a host that we imported... he has never done radio... just lived in the area all his life and is well known to the locals. We love Ludlow... still carry him 9a-12n on our other AM, WCOH AM that covers Coweta County. And by the way... my expenses went UP to make this change, not down. If our checkbook had been the deciding factor, it would have told me to stay with what we had. Silly me, we actually wanted to do another live, local show that would be totally about what is happening in our coverage area. And BTW... the numbers did show that we would not be losing a lot of listeners by making the switch.

This just shows again that NOTHING we do will be acknowledged by some of you as the right thing to do. Sad. "Whats the deal with Clear Channel Mid-west Ga.?" We are doing what we have always done. Working hard to be the best local radio stations we can be. It's too bad that will never be good enough for some of you.

> Ludlow attracts the 65-dead demo. That's fine....I love Ludlow, and the 65-dead folks deserve at least some radio programming. But try selling 65-dead to a car dealer(or anybody else besides rest homes and Florida real estate agents.)
For a vibrant new format, like "The Voice," new, innovative programming was needed. I think more GM's should do as Joe has done and look for TALENT, as opposed to more washed up, burned out, ex-disc jockies, to do talk programming.
And you are right Joe, it will not EVER matter what decision you make, or what direction you take your stations, there will ALWAYS be whiners.
Teddy Roosevelt's "The Critic" says it all...........

Has management thought about importing college graduates from the local colleges in the area to fill in the slots to make the station completely live and local? There are only 2 comments about the show going off. One was wishing it was back on a station that could have a great reach over an audience and the other about money. The second was the only one that was severe.
