What's The Deal With Q102?

So did every song Aaron Carter ever released! That doesn't mean you're obligated to play it. Did you play every B2K song that came around JUST because it was a huge request song??

> Thought so. Just because something doesn't do well
> on a national level, that doesn't mean that it may not do

Really, stupid? Is that how it works?

> As a programmer, you have to pay attention to things like that... which I KNOW, but evidently you don't. Now who's the smarter programmer?

Me...I'm still the smarter programmer. You wasted a month's worth of airplay on a record that was obviosuly a stiff, just because it was a huge request song (a la Hanson, B2K, Jordan Knight) and you say *I* don't get it??

Okay...BTW, name dropping and bragging about how you're "IN" with Kasper, is not only unimpressive...it's downright sad. Does he know you're touting him as your best friend on message boards?

Nope, but then again, I wasn't a programmer when B2K was popular. Nor would I EVER touch an Aaron Carter record.

I never "touted Kasper as my best friend," buddy, I'm sorry to break it to you. I talk to him on occasion, and know a little bit about why he's going back to WAKS, but I am nowhere near his best friend. I think it's funny, though, how (for someone who thinks I'm such an idiot) you are resorting to ANYTHING you can think of to discredit my opinion. I offered a simple bit of insight into the original discussion of why Kasper was leaving and offered an opinion that Frankie J and Natalie are both hits and worthy of airplay, and you've turned it into a one-sided mudslinging contest.

Well, no more... It's plain to see that you don't like how WIOQ is being programmed. So why don't you subscribe to satellite radio, tune to any of the other countless signals in the Philadelphia market, or walk into the building at CC- Philly and express yourself. Don't gripe about it here, if all you can do is say that your "ears don't hear those as songs worth playing." But, I'm done dealing with you on this board... Happy trails.

Hey, ATyler,

Phew! I'm glad to see you're ending this. Someone had to be the bigger person.
The entity you're dealing with on this thread has for a long time, under many aliases, given grief to and slammed many very successful industry people.
Do yourself a favor and don't respond again. BTW, he'll never e-mail you. That's not his M.O.
You sound to me like a person on the way up. This Abaco Nightmare will be asking YOU for a job someday.

Then why on earth would you play a Jesse McCartney record? Just 'cuz "Beautiful Soul" was a hit doesn't make him an instant core artist. And just because
"She's No You" got requests doesnt mean you're obligated to play it. A stiff is a stiff is a stiff.

Yes...and we should all be so lucky to be privvy to such inside information.
You came off sounding smug when you said that. "Well...i know something you don't know. Nanny nanny poo-poo."

No...I don't discredit your opinion. I merely disagree with it.

No mud has been slung. This is a radio discussion board. We are discussing radio. You're taking offense because I don't agree with you.

Dude...this is a radio dicussion message board! "Don't gripe about it here"??
Are you insane? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the board?

The alias I use on this board is the same one I use on www.redandnater.com
The beauty of this board is that we reserve the right to remain anonymous--for obivious reasons.

Just because A Tyler from Carbondale chooses to reveal his true identity on this board, doesn't make him a "bigger person"...nor does it make his opinion more valid than mine.

It's a radio discussion board. I'm discussing radio. What's the problem?
