Is it the reciever that's different? If so,could someone in Canada buy their reciever in the U.S. and listen to Howard Stern accross the border?

That's what many are doing, they are using a US address to get activated and they get stern.

yeah, important thing to note is that receivers bought in canada have a specifiy SID# which prevents them from getting stern.. even if you activate it on sirius.com (u.s. site)

weird.. so it's better to get a u.s. receiver, on ebay or from u.s. directly, then subscribe/activate online and voila..

the canadian lineup is basically the same, minus stern and about 10 music channels ..and in their place u get French and more intl stuff (less for your money)
