What's The Oldest Installation?

What is the oldest continuously functioning transmitter installation? Are there still any water cooled transmitters in use? Any of those big tube transmitters? Any horizontal radiators left? Any time shares left?

May I suggest GOOGLE - or a trip to the library for a look at the BROADCASTING/TELECASTING Yearbook, a fabulous reference?

This way your info is FIRST HAND!

My inspired guess is the Mason,Ohio site for Cincinnati's 700 WLW. The Blaw-Knox diamond still stands there and is still in use. The Western Electric xmtr was fired up on New Years eve 1999-2000 in light of the Y2K scare. It is water cooled. They still use it from time to time as a standby. Also used as a backup is their conventual "stick" tower located closeby.
