Whats this? A new morning show....again?

I seen this on AllAccess.com this morning,

CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WJRR (REAL ROCK 101one)/ORLANDO PM driver JASON "BUCKETHEAD" BAILEY has been named the new morning show host at sister Active Rock WXTB (98ROCK)/TAMPA replacing COWHEAD, now at crosstown COX Classic Rocker WHPT (102.5 THE BONE). BUCKETHEAD has been at WJRR for the past five years. "THE BUCKETHEAD SHOW" will start at WXTB the second week of AUGUST. An announcement for the surrounding cast of characters joining BUCKETHEAD will be announced within the coming days.

WXTB PD DOUBLEDOWN said, "BUCKETHEAD is a true innovator within our medium. He consistently brings meaningful content to his band of BUCKETHEAD fans with every broadcast."

Personally I think if 98Rock was looking for another morning show then i'd like to heard The Fiasco come back in both Tampa and Orlando, but what was wrong with Big Rig and Pat Largo? I like their morning style. Its different yes but the Rig and Largo were good. My opinion anyways.

Look back a couple of weeks ago when I posted a comment about Doubledown...saying that Rig was in jeopardy of losing his gig. Sorry Rig, nice guys finish last in radio!
 
Yep that sucks... I was giving Rig a hard time in that same thread as well but I was really hoping for him and Largo. Both are hard workers and deserve fair shakes in the biz. Buckethead???? Sorry... but that kid (I call him that cause all ya gotta do is look at his resume) is not a "true innovator" in the medium. I've heard him.... good, but nothing like this Doubledown is describing. No way does someone with that resume have any business landing a morning gig in market #19 AND at a heritage station like WXTB. My thoughts... Between 97-X's Fisher and The Bone's Cowhead, Cox has a good rock sales combo and could wage a threat to 98Rock.... especially with these new clowns coming to town. Good luck but my money is on 97.1 and 102.5. Bank on the guys who "know" Tampa Bay. Wow... never thought I'd be making that wager!!!
 
Actually I've still got a gig so I'm not finishing last. I appreciate the "inside word" you had a week or so ago but as I also said changes are the nature of the beast. Shit happens and we move on so that's what I'll do. That's what I've always done and will continue to do. I'll move back into middays and start drilling bonuses again.

That's why you've rocked for many years! You've got a tremendous attitude man!
I just think it stinks when the guys in charge don't see potential, and go with ideas that leave you scratching your head. Good luck! And screw getting up at 3am!
 
Hey Rig, good luck man. I thought you guys were a good change in mornings from the on the edge kind of radio. What is Largo going to do?
 
You know Pat is AMAZING! He and I have become good friends. For the short time we got to work together it was a blast. I'll miss hangn' out with him and laughing about goofy sh*t before and during the show. I actually enjoyed the 4AM alarm. People really grew to love him and his twisted sense of humor. I still can't figure out what Shark was thinking getting rid of him a couple of years back . I'm hoping Pat can find a home with Buckethead. I can only hope the people in our own building can see what an asset he can be. He's way overdue for some good times and I know he'll find it.
