What's up at WTXT?

Looks like something's going on at WTXT. Most of the air staff seems to be gone. The only ones left seem to be Monica Reed and Todd Robbins. The most conspicuous absence is that D.D. and Kimberly are gone from morning drive. D.D. was supposedly on vacation, but Kimberly was there earlier this week, and now she's also gone. And it's not just that they're gone, but they've also been purged from the Web site. And I believe D.D. has been around since the station was Top 40 WHKW, which is a long, long time ago.

Anyone have any insight as to what's happened? One of the things that I liked about WTXT is that it still had a good deal of local flavor. The morning show was very entertaining, if only because of the way D.D. and Kimberly would get into arguments, sometimes to the point that I wondered if they really got angry at each other.

Just an update on this thread. WTXT is now running a spot promoting Big D & Bubba, their new morning show, beginning on Monday. I punched in www.bigdandbubba.com and found their site. Another syndicated morning show. Great, just what we need.

Anyone know anything about who these guys are? I've never heard of them before.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's one single local morning show left on the FM dial in Tuscaloosa. Well, besides WVUA 90.7.

BD&B are based at WSIX Nashville...doing mornings on numerous
stations via Premiere (don't know how many, but it's in the
20-30 range I think). BTW, they do afternoons locally on WSIX.
______________

Big D and Bubba performed horribly in our market in North Florida. There was way too much talk and whoever was doing the traffic then, couldn't pronounce the street names even remotely close to correctly.

When the ratings of the entire station started tanking, CC finally wised up and hired the morning show away from their competitor. My wife, who is normally driving during that time of the day, took the Big D and Bubba station off her presets until this local morning show showed up over there.

With the local morning show, this particular station is ahead of the competitor once again, but not by much. Even the top rated station in the market has much lower numbers than they did, say 2 years ago.

Now, both of our country stations have local morning shows.
______________

Sounds a lot like Rick and Bubba...which one has been on the air longer?
