WHAT'S UP @ ENTERCOM?

Recruiting a "General Manager" now....?? Assume this is someone to work WITH the "market manager" and is not managing the entire cluster?

In any case it's interesting to note that requirements for any human resources position are FAR more detailed and FAR more important than the requirements to be their General Manager.

But should you decide to apply for the gig, God help you if you don't fill out an "Entercom Application" because you cannot be considered for the job without it.

"I did complete turnarounds in Phoenix, Kansas City, Boston, Chicago, LA."
"Yeah...but we need your application so we can reference-check your Tastee-Freeze drive-through experience from high school".

Gotta LOVE those HR folks.

The GM was promoted to a Market Manager position.

And obviously, all open positions must be posted.

Do you really think they'll hire a GM from a reply to a posting on all access?

Entercom is in the tank, let's be real. Decade back they had three in the Top 5...now KISW limps in with a monster third trend. KIRO, KBSG,KNDD OUCH! Best advise SELL EVERTHING ASAP.

...Sorry to shoot down your conspiracy theory.

Huh???

I was just asking what was up ... the question I raised was trying to figure out why they wanted a VP/GM when they already have a market manager here. Didn't realize this one was going to another market.

But if there's a good conspiracy that IS going down ... wake me up. Could be fun to watch.

..and I heard Dave Ross is shaking his head too...

Entercom Seattle is definately 'withering on the vine'...

Anybody else amazed as I am that Ross has stayed with KIRO for so long? Here's a guy, and maybe the only person there other than R.R., who has talent and could do almost anything he wanted at a real radio station somewhere else, or for a network, or his own syndicated/satellite show, yet he stays with the losers at 710.
Anyone else see the KIRO bus boards? It screams of some suits meeting at Entercom with people around a table saying let's be young and hip. The two I've seen say "ALL ROSS NO BULL" and "REAGAN'S HEAR."
Will someone inform the Entercom Emperor they have no clothes on, or in the case of KIRO's PD, likely no pants on.

Gregg Hersholt is great in mornings. Dave Ross should've left years ago and went to LA /NYC.

KIRO got away from NEWS-TALK and traded it for TALK-NEWS huge error, plus losing the Mariners. KOMO has done a stellar job in grabbing KIRO's old ground and holding it.

Have you considered that maybe Dave Ross likes to live in Seattle?

Believe it or not, there are radio people who actually put their life, family and personal surroundings before some imaginary guideline of needing to move to a larger market.

Puget Sound Lifestyle Over Seattle Radio Job

Yes, let's SPOT the obvious and find something WRONG with it...ey?

Like thousands of middle-agers now local, he could be STUCK here thanks to the 60's BOEING era...

Back then it was WORTH driving from New York or L.A. - simply to work in any capacity at the Lazy B...

..before the lights went out, that is....
