what's up with 104.1?

I was thinking earlier why the hell are they playing REM?? It was all hit music? and all old!

Where is this article from the advocate? Only place I saw was someone hinting about it is on here so far.

They are trying to get the digital section going as they are testing it occasionally (as it makes the subbands that lock radios seeking)

BUt yeah KYRK for being New Orleans rock station plays a lot of 90's alternative and is more of a modern rock station that heavily favors recurrants (It's bad when KXOR plays newer music than KYRK)

So that's why you heard REM for.....

Don't know the link to the Advocate article but on Clear Channel's FCC aproval, they listed KYRK as one of the stations they are moving into the Trust putting the station up for sale. At one time, all of the Clear Channel New Orleans stations were put in the trust. Some speculated CC was leaving NO, but it was just a move to buy them time to see which station they would divest.

I was hoping they would sell them all, but, nobody's buying and nobody in their right mind would buy New Orleans (that's why Citadel can't dump their stations either).

in a 6 hour timeframe I heard the same REM song twice. losing my religion. they sound like they have a loop going?

edit:

something really is up. they are just saying 1041FM. Not the rock of New Orleans. Is 995FM coming back? hummm?

Clear Channel programming tips these days say you DON'T say the station slogan more than once an hour....maybe.

And of course, no voicetrackers on right now to say "The Rock of New Orleans", and the imaging's not gonna do it...so there you go.

Talk on 99-5 ain't goin' anywhere anytime soon. Hell, on All Access they've got a job posting for a new morning show.
