What's up with 99.3 Kiss Fm

99.3 Kiss Fm has sounded awful for almost a month. The station sounds distorted and sound only comes out of one speaker. Does Equity just not care at all about Kiss Fm anymore? Why did they get rid of the simulcast on 105.5fm in Cape May County?

Also, they are back to all rap music again. They should just classify themselves as Hip Hop and make 95.1 WAYV a real Top 40. WAYV has gotten better, but they still edit a lot of songs (Ex. Nicki Minaj - Starships, Maroon 5 - Payphone, Havana Brown - We Run The Night) . I think AC 102.7 is the best. It is a mix between 99.3 and 95.1 and they play the real Top 40 versions.

WZBZ is on both of my speakers.
WZBZ is not distorted.
Barely anyone listens to 102.7 (look at the ratings)
102.7 sounds like a bad Internet stream on the air.

Yes, because Ryan Seacrest is surely the best local talent you have to offer. I miss Wild 102.7 :mad:
 
WZBZ has been classified as rhythmic top 40 for at least a year if not more, so it's been playing "all rap" for at least that time if not longer. So the reason they are playing so much rap and hip hop is probably intentional. And I'm pretty sure Equity's owners or programmers do care about it because the last time I checked, WZBZ usually comes in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in most demographics the last few books.

As for WAYV, I'd say it IS a real top 40 because it's reporting as a CHR currently. If they are in fact censoring any songs, my guess is because they know, like most CHR stations, that they have a lot of kids, teens and moms listening. I'm sure their rival WSJO censors along similar (if not the same) lines.

It seems like Equity had planned to flip 105.5 for quite awhile. They've had the WSNQ call letters since 2007, so that might explain it.
 
and 10 years ago right around now

99.3 the buzz started too shift into hip-hop and R&B and remained #1 for many years
