What's up with Bob & The Showgram?

Been hearing lots of "Best Of" as I surf the dial the past week or two. A buddy of mine who listens to their podcasts didn't recall them mentioning a vacation before the Best Ofs began. Anybody know the deal? Contract stuff? Something said On Air? Maybe something said OFF Air??
 
I've noticed the same thing. It's recycled bits, but with live stuff mixed in. I know Krisitin is live because she's been doing updated Headlines. I think I heard Mike live this morning, but the rest is old. They have the studio cams covered online. And they are not using the term "Best Of" in their intros or outros. I emailed [email protected] and got no response so I emailed program director Randi West and got this reply

The Showgram went downhill big time when Madison left to have her kid and do the AM drive on the now defunct Sunny93.9

G should drop alot of this teenaged leaning pop and hiphop and go back to the way they were, say...in 1997/1998 -i would be amazed to the point of almost having a panic attack if they ever did.
 
:mad: I listened to G-105 for a short while this morning and was not impressed at all. The bit they did calling husbands and having their wives grant them "One Night of Free Sex" went on and on and on and on and on and quite frankly "sucked" It actually sounded like some wierd stuff that Russ Spooner would have done back in the 70's on KIX... Maybe that's what gets listeners in Raleigh, but I think it was pathetic!
 
Randi was on with Mike & Kristin this morning to make that announcement she spoke of. Actually, they made it via a phone call from his wife saying that he had to have unexpected surgury and will be out around 8 weeks. Sounds like something major. Even those who don't care for his personality hope he'll make a good recovery.
 
Well, I wish Bob the best. I had feared it was a health problem and I hope that everything turns out for the best.
 
Yeah.. 8 weeks sounds like Open Heart. That was the timetable my grandfather got last fall when h had open heart. I wouldn't be surprised by the weight, eating habits he talks about, and probably smoking what... a pack a day?

Get well Bob. Lord knows that things could be worse...
