What's up with Clear Channel Dayton?

I have been noticing that their station id's are short and have nothing behind them. It sounds like somebody just said the name of the station into a microphone and that's it. I've noticed it especially on Channel 94-5 and WTUE. Why?

Sounds like what CCis doing to Mix94.1 in Cincinnati. No imaging at all. Just i'd's that say the frequency in between song sets. Very boring.

It's to avoid sounding too cluttered. Stations are now playing two to three songs in a row before hitting an ID, instead of doing after every song. Sounds like some one turned on the "Way-back" machine to 1992. I have heard jocks doing intro breaks during music sweeps on TUE. Haven't heard that since '98 or there 'bouts.

Don't like it either way. rates up there with the Mattel recalls...very leery of the GoodRadio deal that collapsed in Lima,Mansfield and other smaller markets
...in short...media mediocrity.

Watch your P's and Q's Kim Faris..I don't like the way thay play ball in Dayton or elsewhere.

"Not correct. Radio One is selling the Dayton cluster. I have read that CC will have to divest 2 but nothing since. "

If I remember from June; CC put the Dayton cluster in the Aloha Trust. The Aloha Trust is widely presumed to be holding place before a possible sale. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Nothing gets transferred to the Aloha Trust until the Clear Channel buyout is completed. CC has assigned a couple hundred stations to it, but some of those stations have been sold and turned over to their new owners already, like the Santa Barbara, California cluster which was sold to Rincon.

Actually, the stations being transferred to the trust are doing so because the buyout CANNOT be completed until the previously grandfathered oversized clusters are pared down.

So, here's a crazy sinareo.
With the possible 95.7 move to Cincinnati or there abouts, could we see.
95-7 be moved.
Cox picks up 106.5 from CC. 106.5 takes WHIOFM calls and serves northern Miami Valley.
I just don't see Cox picking up a radio one station and 92.1 would do them no good targeting the northern Miami Valley.

If Cox could have a Dayton city-grade station for WHIO-FM, they'd do it. It doesn't do them a heck of a lot of good to be strong in Sidney and Celina. With Greenville being even further out than Piqua, somehow I don't see that happening.

WTUE and WLQT are the moneymakers right? Then let go of Mix 1077...but we have been led on about this downgrade for a year and they want to keep the rumour mill going....typical!

Mix is just as much of a moneymaker. Just like someone on this board who doesn't know.....typical!
