Whats up with Clear channel Raleigh?

Anyone hear that commercial on 100.7 the river around 5:45 this afternoon. It was about the clearchannel merge. It said that WRVA-FM was transferring charge or something. The commercial went on for like 5-6 minutes. Is clear channel selling the raleigh market ( I hope so ). Maybe thats why they switched all their stations in the past 2 months or so except G105. Anyone know whats going on, did anyone else hear it , Comments:

Heard the exact same thing on G105 around 4:15 this afternoon. It was more or less five minutes of them reading off at least fifty people's names, and the like. I have no idea what it really meant, but it was definitely interesting. If you listened to it closely, you got the feeling that something big was on file to happen at CC Raleigh.

naaaaah. This is happening all over the country. CC is finally getting around to getting the licenses straight. There are still some left over from before the Capstar and Jacor days. It's a mere formality...no flips or spinoffs.

Announcement is obviously related to the change in ownership at CC. Pretty standard stuff when there the names change at the top.

I heard that same commercial (yesterday at roughly the same time) on 93.9 Kiss, and I am also wondering what's going on... ???

Seems like in years past, I've heard some other stations over the years read through some of their public file with a long list of names of board of directors and such. It's boring, and it was a long read, but I don't remember any of them making drastic changes after that.

It is required by the FCC anytime there is a major change in the licensee of a station. Since the Mays boys are selling CC to a holding company (announced last fall) the major change is taking place on ALL CC stations. The timing between last fall's announcement and the actual transfer is actually rather quick. Those things can take months to work out. There is nothing new about the announcements except they have gotten longer and longer as large companies have gotten into the business.

4 1/2 mins of legalese.....thats all it is. It's kinda like taking 18 pages just to say I'm not married to this gal anymore......

Thanks to the lawyers and the FCC! You know, contest rules promos run for ever these days, too!
