What's up with KQQB?

KQQB 1520 AM is dead air all the time now. The transmitter is on, but no audio comes through. It's as if their feed went dead and they haven't fixed it.

It's been like this for at least a couple weeks, and these outages have happened before. Anyone know what's up with that station? They might as well turn their transmitter off to save power.

Or are they adopting KHHL's previous format of silence? ???

They have answered emails in the past. Have you checked their website for this?

Thanks, email sent.

Actually, thinking back, I believe they air chinese (or something similar) programs on weekends sometimes. Weekdays are dead though.

Just got a message back from KQQB staff.

Quote:
Thank you for listening to and for KQQB. We have been having some audio issues that we are working on so we can provide San Antonio and the surrounding area with great radio shows. We have boots on the ground and we hope to have the issues resolved shortly and permanantly!

Please continue to listen to KQQB in the future.

I'll listen, maybe, when it comes back on and it largely depends on the format they pick. LOL. ::)

Last week for a few days I noticed Spanish regional Mexican sounding music (probably religious) on 1520 with no commercials or ID's that I could hear.
Now I notice that once again no audio is present on KQQB. Dead air all the time, just like it was before sometime last week.

The really strange part about all this is that KQQB now broadcasts at night. They seem to leave the transmitter on, last week the Spanish music continued into the nights with no signs of slowing down, and right now at almost midnight the transmitter is still on. Only difference is there's no audio going to it.
I thought their license said daytime only. Or did they get a CP?
It could be that they either don't much care about turning their station off at nights, or that they don't know or think it matters.

KQQB is now regional Mexican sounding but maybe Christian Spanish music whenever I tune in.
They have started once again broadcasting daytime only (that's a good thing), I wouldn't wanna get fined for not turning off an antenna. But there's little or no imaging that I've heard.

Same people running it or are they leasing out?
