What's up with Moe Lauzier

Anyone know what's up with Moe Lauzier. He had been posting to his blog pretty regularly until September 16th and then just suddenly stopped.

Anyone know what's going on?

Shoot him an email. He will respond. I don't know what kind of traffic he was getting for his blog as time went by. Too bad there aren't a few hours for him somewhere on the dial on a Saturday morning. It was definitely part of my weekend routine.

I tried sending him an e-mail a couple of weeks ago and never got a response. He seemed like the type of guy that would answer back, that's why I was wondering if something was going on.

I always enjoyed hearing him on RKO and listening to him while doing my morning chores had become part of my weekend routine.

Hope he's doing well. He always seemed like a nice guy.

I concur. Always enjoyed listening to him while driving home from work on Saturday mornings.
With all the garbage on Saturday mornings these days, it is hard to believe there isn't room for him somewhere.

"Garbage on Saturday mornings"? Let's see...we have "Weekend Edition/Saturday"; "Wait, "wait Don't Tell Me"; "From the Top"; "Fresh Air Weekend". Pretty good shows, especially now that Juan Williams will not be appearing on any of them.

I guess you didn't hear Mr Williams do a full hour with Diane Rheem yesterday morning. Diane played a tape of the full interchange between Williams and O'Reilly that triggered the whole event. In so doing, as far as I am concerned, Williams, whom Rheem described as a long time friend and colleague who had appeared as a guest on her NPR show more times than she could count, revealed that when he dons his Fox TV persona he can transform himself into a real jerk. It wasn't what he said as much as the way he said it. Willams, who sounded engaging and collegial in his interchanges with Ms Rheem, became an angry, snarling, yelling O'Reilly clone in the tape of his appearance on O'Reilly's Fox TV show. Demonstrates that no transcript can properly portray the histrionics of the folks who appear on talk shows.

Bad guess...I did in fact hear the interview on the Diane Rhem show. My take is similar to Dan Kennedy's at his Media Nation blog; Juan was a mediocre radio analyst who added little to any NPR show on which he appeared. After Daniel Schorr died, I noticed that Juan was heard from time-to-time, but apparently was not offered the Saturday @ 9:00 am eastern time slot. Maybe he was a good writer for the Washington Post, but not every capable writer makes it on radio. I also rarely saw him on any Fox cable or broadcast network show, but when I had exposure to clips, he was talking fairly loudly in an attempt to be heard over his fellow Foxers. As was stated on the diane Rehm show, and on "On Point", that's not the NPR style. This episode reminds me of the ban that the Globe exercised on its sports writers after the "monkey" episode on WEEI-AM. They were not to appear on ANY show on that outlet, even ones that may have been more circumspect than Dennis & Callahan or the afternoon drivetime show.

I heard his old Garden show buddy Jim Zoppo mention on 'TKK that Moe has been very sick over the past month. He seems to be recovering well. Just thought I'd pass along the information. This would explain the lack of blog and e-mail activity.

The incident to which you are referring happened in 2003. The ban that you're talking about happened in 1999, and it was WEEI that banned Globe writers from its entire lineup, after the Globe put a ban on the Ordway show and the Dennis/Callahan show soon afterwards.

Thanks, Jay.

Moe, if you read this board, hope you're getting well.

"Having experienced what I have, which includes multiple instances of have been placed in an induced coma 6 different times"
Sounds like Moe is still listening to the WRKO weekend lineup and doesn't hold any hard feelings.
