What's up with this?

OK, so I posted a message telling about Rob Milford, some of his background, and how KDKA was lucky to have him. Then someone created a log-on (OldDawg) to post this message accusing Milford of arming himself and stalking his replacement at KRLD.I responded that I know it was not true. Then, after the denial of service attack, my response, dawg's reply, and my reply to dawg were left off. The slanderous accusation remained. I have problems with this:-I am in a position to know the allegation is not true.-This kind of anonymous slander has been used against me on Radio-Info by people associated with Mr. Milford's previous employers.-My reply was deleted, but the original slander remained, and still remains on the board.Bad enough that someone would use this board to spread misinformation, but if that misinformation is intended to keep a Radio Professional from being able to pursue his or her vocation, then this board is of no use to me.Good-bye.Bob Crowley, AKA GRANTCHESTER

Bob, I agree.I understand the denial-of-service attack, by whoever perpetrated it, knocked off a couple days worth of posts; however, such a post as the one about Milford's alleged stalking and purported criminal activity should have been manually deleted by the administrators of the new site once it was determined that the old posts were unobtainable. This is one that the new owners cannot blame on the old system's operators--under the old system, there was a post questioning the veracity of the Dawg's claim (I saw it). Although that the post was lost was not the act of the current owners/operators, the objectionable, well nigh libelous one should have been manually removed by them. "Malicious intent" (which is redundant and incorrect--malice is, by definition, intentional) applies to all posts here--not just ones relating to the persons and operations of this board (and the other board too).I would hope that the current owners/operators of Radio-Info take Bob's post to heart and act affirmatively on their pledge to keep the "crap" off the boards before more good men like Bob leave for greener, and more professional, boards.

Please tell me which post(s) we are talking about. There are hundreds of thousands of posts under the "old guard" and I'm sure many should be reviewed. You assistance in reporting these posts is also appreciated.

I'm not sure why I need to do this, since Bob (GrantChester) defined and directed you to the post already, but here it is:http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index...lies=6;sesc=0cc9740d32a6b0e228b10a2b5616bbc0I would expect that this falls under "derogatory" and whatever other buzzwords are out there now. This reaches all of them, and more.I'm not saying that all of the posts should be reviewed, but it seems to me that alot of "pass the buck" is trying to be done to the "old guard" when everyone in management, ownership, and operations at that time would be equally complicit. This is not the time for finger-pointing from anyone--this is the time for action. In fact, probably the time for proaction, and not reaction. I use this post as a prime example only because it was so new, and so "out there"--single poster, libelous comments, and the end post in the thread. Seems like it could be a slam dunk. But to each his or her own, Managing Board Editor.

Explain to me where there is alot of ""pass the buck" is trying to be done to the "old guard""? We have not "passed the buck" in ANY instance. Please provide me with your source of references on each that you are refering to. No one is finger pointing, and my reply is an effort to correct the problem, not "pass the buck" as you are implying.Let me say that I do appreciate your concern, and your helpfulness. Feel free to alert us to any other posts that fall in this catagory as we clean up the offensive posts.

I appreciate your kind words, and I guess our perceptions are opposite, which is only natural. Regardless, the board continues to function smoothly, and I divide my time between both boards because I enjoy both locations and the information contained therein.I thank you for your time and your attention to Bob's and my own concerns.
