What's with Dayton's WDSJ "Smooth Jazz" 106.5?

The other day I tuned in WDSJ 106.5, Dayton's "Smooth Jazz" station, and they were playing classic country. Right now (August 2, 2:20 a. m.) they are back to the jazz format.

Can't the station make up its mind? ???

It may have been the weather playing tricks. You could have been getting the country station out of Kentucky on the same channel.

It's called tropo or e-skip...it happens frequently in the summer

Stations from a fe whundred or even a thousand miles away will override local channels for seconds, mintues or even hours.

JCS you were probly breifly getting WNKR from Northern Kentucky which is co channel with WDSJ via DX skip. thats possibly the reason why you were getting Classic Country instead of Smooth Jazz. here in east central indiana we have this same thing on 101.9 with WKLU out of brownsburg and the DX Skip of WKRQ out of cincinnati
