WHATS WITH RADIO HIRING MIXERS THAT DONT BLEND?

I thought that was the whole point of mixes was the blends. I can tolerate the same 30 old school records if they was blended right.....Why hire a DJ that would do a better job mixing cement??

yeah theres been lotta mixdjs who get hired by radio stations who dont even know how to mix.
i like to here good blend mixes.

It's not a mix if you don't blend. I just returned from Orlando and there's a guy on Sunday night who just "slammed" records together. It was awful.

I understand completely about Orlando. I've been there and its been exactly how you put it. But really outside of Chicago, you are not going to hear songs being blended together like were accustomed to hearing.

More and more, these so-called 'mixers' on the radio and on the outside, are a far cry as to what we are used to. I really havent heard a good mixshow since the late 90's. And to find a DJ that can blend and doesnt YELL at every damn break or start of a new song "EXCLUSIVE" "WORLD PREMIERE ON MY TURNTABLE" song, is really a rarity!

I empathize with all of you, its just that we need somebody to teach them, but the question is, WILL THEY LISTEN??

The mixers I heard are IN/FROM Chicago...and should know better....One guy plays songs that shouldnt be mixed together. Station management at the time claimed the listeners dont care about how the mixes sound- they just care about the hits....

Another Chicago Station got rid of the one mixer, deciding to go in another direction and brought in 5 guys to do what one was doing so much better blend and song wise.....

So who are the good mixers, and can I listen in from Pittsburgh?

DJ JM3 was one.......he was on LOVE-fm (Chicago)until the brain trust voted him off...I think he does work for SupeRadio....not sure where he is now.....

How were his ratings? If they were good maybe they would have kept him.

The whole station dropped in ratings, so you really couldnt single him out...but his last trend he was a 3.1 in October ....

I looked but wasn't able to find 3.1 trend. What demo / daypart are you referring to.

DJ FlipSide...B96

Hottest mixer in the City right now

Also

Dj Todd Maverick..Hiphop/OldSchool/House/Dance

I heard Flipside.... good with edits-Jury is still out on him being the hottest mixer.....

Steve "Miggedy" Maestro, JM3 & Boolu Master would get the nod IMO
